What does 1 Corinthians 1:3 mean?
Paul concludes the introduction of his letter with a standard Christian greeting. Though it was standard, it also carries the weight of a prayer offered by an apostle of Christ for those who are in Christ. He asks God for grace for them, along with peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.Even in this, Paul is helping the Corinthians—and all who read this letter—to understand more clearly what is true about our relationship with God. He alone is our source of grace and peace. God is one and consists of both the Father and Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, who is not mentioned here. God intends for us to be in relationship with Him as a Father and as our Lord.
