What does Exodus 6:13 mean?
Pharaoh's harsh rejection (Exodus 5:15–21) made Moses doubt (Exodus 5:22–23). When he tried to pass along the Lord's reassurance (Exodus 6:1–8), the people were too resentful and overworked to listen (Exodus 6:9). When God gives Moses orders to speak to Pharaoh again (Exodus 6:10–11), Moses' reaction is one of deep self-doubt (Exodus 6:12).This resistance will not change the Lord's plans. He makes it clear that Moses and his brother, Aaron (Exodus 4:14–16) are under divine command. They are not being asked to do this—they are being ordered to do it. The Lord knows that freeing Israel will be difficult (Exodus 3:19–20; 4:21–23). But He will see it accomplished (Exodus 12:41).
