What does Genesis 36:11 mean?
The genealogy of the Edomites (Genesis 36:1, 10) continues. Esau's son Eliphaz had sons by the names of Teman, meaning "south," Omar, probably referring to "eloquent," Zepho, or "view," Gatam, which seems to mean "thin," and Kenaz, meaning "hunter."The name Teman was later used for a region in Edom mentioned by both Jeremiah and Ezekiel. Jeremiah suggested that Teman became known as a place of wisdom (Jeremiah 49:7). One of Job's comforters was named Eliphaz the Temanite (Job 2:11).
