English Standard Version

1The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 2"Command the people of Israel, and say to them, When you enter the land of Canaan (this is the land that shall fall to you for an inheritance, the land of Canaan as defined by its borders), 3your south side shall be from the wilderness of Zin alongside Edom, and your southern border shall run from the end of the Salt Sea on the east. 4And your border shall turn south of the ascent of Akrabbim, and cross to Zin, and its limit shall be south of Kadesh-barnea. Then it shall go on to Hazar-addar, and pass along to Azmon. 5And the border shall turn from Azmon to the Brook of Egypt, and its limit shall be at the sea.
6"For the western border, you shall have the Great Sea and its coast. This shall be your western border.
7"This shall be your northern border: from the Great Sea you shall draw a line to Mount Hor. 8From Mount Hor you shall draw a line to Lebo-hamath, and the limit of the border shall be at Zedad. 9Then the border shall extend to Ziphron, and its limit shall be at Hazar-enan. This shall be your northern border.
10"You shall draw a line for your eastern border from Hazar-enan to Shepham. 11And the border shall go down from Shepham to Riblah on the east side of Ain. And the border shall go down and reach to the shoulder of the Sea of Chinnereth on the east. 12And the border shall go down to the Jordan, and its limit shall be at the Salt Sea. This shall be your land as defined by its borders all around."
13Moses commanded the people of Israel, saying, "This is the land that you shall inherit by lot, which the Lord has commanded to give to the nine tribes and to the half-tribe. 14For the tribe of the people of Reuben by fathers ' houses and the tribe of the people of Gad by their fathers ' houses have received their inheritance, and also the half-tribe of Manasseh. 15The two tribes and the half-tribe have received their inheritance beyond the Jordan east of Jericho, toward the sunrise."
16The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 17"These are the names of the men who shall divide the land to you for inheritance: Eleazar the priest and Joshua the son of Nun. 18You shall take one chief from every tribe to divide the land for inheritance. 19These are the names of the men: Of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh. 20Of the tribe of the people of Simeon, Shemuel the son of Ammihud. 21Of the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad the son of Chislon. 22Of the tribe of the people of Dan a chief, Bukki the son of Jogli. 23Of the people of Joseph: of the tribe of the people of Manasseh a chief, Hanniel the son of Ephod. 24And of the tribe of the people of Ephraim a chief, Kemuel the son of Shiphtan. 25Of the tribe of the people of Zebulun a chief, Elizaphan the son of Parnach. 26Of the tribe of the people of Issachar a chief, Paltiel the son of Azzan. 27And of the tribe of the people of Asher a chief, Ahihud the son of Shelomi. 28Of the tribe of the people of Naphtali a chief, Pedahel the son of Ammihud." 29These are the men whom the Lord commanded to divide the inheritance for the people of Israel in the land of Canaan.

1The Lord said to Moses, 2"Command the Israelites and say to them: ‘When you enter Canaan, the land that will be allotted to you as an inheritance is to have these boundaries:
3" ‘Your southern side will include some of the Desert of Zin along the border of Edom. Your southern boundary will start in the east from the southern end of the Dead Sea, 4cross south of Scorpion Pass, continue on to Zin and go south of Kadesh Barnea. Then it will go to Hazar Addar and over to Azmon, 5where it will turn, join the Wadi of Egypt and end at the Mediterranean Sea.
6" ‘Your western boundary will be the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. This will be your boundary on the west.
7" ‘For your northern boundary, run a line from the Mediterranean Sea to Mount Hor 8and from Mount Hor to Lebo Hamath. Then the boundary will go to Zedad, 9continue to Ziphron and end at Hazar Enan. This will be your boundary on the north.
10" ‘For your eastern boundary, run a line from Hazar Enan to Shepham. 11The boundary will go down from Shepham to Riblah on the east side of Ain and continue along the slopes east of the Sea of Galilee.
12Then the boundary will go down along the Jordan and end at the Dead Sea. " ‘This will be your land, with its boundaries on every side.’ "
13Moses commanded the Israelites: "Assign this land by lot as an inheritance. The Lord has ordered that it be given to the nine-and-a-half tribes, 14because the families of the tribe of Reuben, the tribe of Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance. 15These two-and-a-half tribes have received their inheritance east of the Jordan across from Jericho, toward the sunrise."
16The Lord said to Moses, 17"These are the names of the men who are to assign the land for you as an inheritance: Eleazar the priest and Joshua son of Nun. 18And appoint one leader from each tribe to help assign the land.
19These are their names: Caleb son of Jephunneh, from the tribe of Judah;
20Shemuel son of Ammihud, from the tribe of Simeon;
21Elidad son of Kislon, from the tribe of Benjamin;
22Bukki son of Jogli, the leader from the tribe of Dan;
23Hanniel son of Ephod, the leader from the tribe of Manasseh son of Joseph;
24Kemuel son of Shiphtan, the leader from the tribe of Ephraim son of Joseph;
25Elizaphan son of Parnak, the leader from the tribe of Zebulun;
26Paltiel son of Azzan, the leader from the tribe of Issachar;
27Ahihud son of Shelomi, the leader from the tribe of Asher;
28Pedahel son of Ammihud, the leader from the tribe of Naphtali."
29These are the men the Lord commanded to assign the inheritance to the Israelites in the land of Canaan.

1Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 2Command the sons of Israel and say to them, ‘When you enter the land of Canaan, this is the land that shall fall to you as an inheritance, that is, the land of Canaan according to its borders. 3Your southern region shall extend from the wilderness of Zin along the side of Edom, and your southern border shall extend from the end of the Salt Sea eastward. 4Then your border shall change direction from the south to the ascent of Akrabbim and continue to Zin, and its termination shall be to the south of Kadesh-barnea; and it shall reach Hazaraddar and continue to Azmon. 5Then the border shall change direction from Azmon to the brook of Egypt, and its termination shall be at the sea.
6‘As for the western border, you shall have the Great Sea, that is, its coastline; this shall be your western border.
7‘And this shall be your northern border: you shall draw your boundary from the Great Sea to Mount Hor. 8You shall draw a boundary from Mount Hor to the Lebo-hamath, and the termination of the border shall be at Zedad; 9and the border shall proceed to Ziphron, and its termination shall be at Hazar-enan. This shall be your northern border.
10‘For your eastern border you shall also draw a boundary from Hazar-enan to Shepham, 11and the border shall go down from Shepham to Riblah on the east side of Ain; and the border shall go down and reach to the slope on the east side of the Sea of Chinnereth. 12And the border shall go down to the Jordan, and its termination shall be at the Salt Sea. This shall be your land according to its borders on all sides.’?'
13So Moses commanded the sons of Israel, saying, 'This is the land that you are to possess by lot, which the Lord has commanded to give to the nine and a half tribes. 14For the tribe of the sons of Reuben have received theirs according to their fathers’ households, and the tribe of the sons of Gad according to their fathers’ households, and the half-tribe of Manasseh have received their possession. 15The two and a half tribes have received their possession across the Jordan opposite Jericho, eastward toward the sunrise.'
16Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 17These are the names of the men who shall assign the land to you as an inheritance: Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun. 18And you shall take one leader of each tribe to assign the land as an inheritance. 19These are the names of the men: of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh. 20Of the tribe of the sons of Simeon, Samuel the son of Ammihud. 21Of the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad the son of Chislon. 22And of the tribe of the sons of Dan, a leader, Bukki the son of Jogli. 23Of the sons of Joseph: of the tribe of the sons of Manasseh, a leader, Hanniel the son of Ephod. 24Of the tribe of the sons of Ephraim, a leader, Kemuel the son of Shiphtan. 25Of the tribe of the sons of Zebulun, a leader, Elizaphan the son of Parnach. 26Of the tribe of the sons of Issachar, a leader, Paltiel the son of Azzan. 27Of the tribe of the sons of Asher, a leader, Ahihud the son of Shelomi. 28Of the tribe of the sons of Naphtali, a leader, Pedahel the son of Ammihud.' 29These are the ones whom the Lord commanded to apportion the inheritance to the sons of Israel in the land of Canaan.

3Your southern side will be from the Wilderness of Zin along the boundary of Edom. Your southern border on the east will begin at the east end of the Dead Sea. 4Your border will turn south of the Scorpions’ Ascent, proceed to Zin, and end south of Kadesh-barnea. It will go to Hazar-addar and proceed to Azmon. 5The border will turn from Azmon to the Brook of Egypt, where it will end at the Mediterranean Sea.

This will be your land defined by its borders on all sides."
13So Moses commanded the Israelites, "This is the land you are to receive by lot as an inheritance, which the Lord commanded to be given to the nine and a half tribes. 14For the tribe of Reuben’s descendants and the tribe of Gad’s descendants have received their inheritance according to their ancestral families, and half the tribe of Manasseh has received its inheritance. 15The two and a half tribes have received their inheritance across the Jordan east of Jericho, toward the sunrise."
16The Lord spoke to Moses, 17"These are the names of the men who are to distribute the land as an inheritance for you: the priest Eleazar and Joshua son of Nun. 18Take one leader from each tribe to distribute the land.
19These are the names of the men: Caleb son of Jephunneh from the tribe of Judah;
20Shemuel son of Ammihud from the tribe of Simeon’s descendants;
21Elidad son of Chislon from the tribe of Benjamin;
22Bukki son of Jogli, a leader from the tribe of Dan’s descendants;
23from the sons of Joseph: Hanniel son of Ephod, a leader from the tribe of Manasseh’s descendants,
24Kemuel son of Shiphtan, a leader from the tribe of Ephraim’s descendants;
25Eli-zaphan son of Parnach, a leader from the tribe of Zebulun’s descendants;
26Paltiel son of Azzan, a leader from the tribe of Issachar’s descendants;
27Ahihud son of Shelomi, a leader from the tribe of Asher’s descendants; 28Pedahel son of Ammihud, a leader from the tribe of Naphtali’s descendants."
29These are the ones the Lord commanded to distribute the inheritance to the Israelites in the land of Canaan.

1Then the Lord said to Moses, 2Give these instructions to the Israelites: When you come into the land of Canaan, which I am giving you as your special possession, these will be the boundaries. 3The southern portion of your country will extend from the wilderness of Zin, along the edge of Edom. The southern boundary will begin on the east at the Dead Sea. 4It will then run south past Scorpion Pass in the direction of Zin. Its southernmost point will be Kadesh-barnea, from which it will go to Hazar-addar, and on to Azmon. 5From Azmon the boundary will turn toward the Brook of Egypt and end at the Mediterranean Sea.
6Your western boundary will be the coastline of the Mediterranean Sea.
7Your northern boundary will begin at the Mediterranean Sea and run east to Mount Hor, 8then to Lebo-hamath, and on through Zedad 9and Ziphron to Hazar-enan. This will be your northern boundary.
10The eastern boundary will start at Hazar-enan and run south to Shepham, 11then down to Riblah on the east side of Ain. From there the boundary will run down along the eastern edge of the Sea of Galilee, 12and then along the Jordan River to the Dead Sea. These are the boundaries of your land.'
13Then Moses told the Israelites, 'This territory is the homeland you are to divide among yourselves by sacred lot. The Lord has commanded that the land be divided among the nine and a half remaining tribes. 14The families of the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and half the tribe of Manasseh have already received their grants of land 15on the east side of the Jordan River, across from Jericho toward the sunrise.'
16And the Lord said to Moses, 17Eleazar the priest and Joshua son of Nun are the men designated to divide the grants of land among the people. 18Enlist one leader from each tribe to help them with the task.
19These are the tribes and the names of the leaders: Judah — Caleb son of Jephunneh 20Simeon — Shemuel son of Ammihud 21Benjamin — Elidad son of Kislon 22Dan — Bukki son of Jogli 23Manasseh son of Joseph — Hanniel son of Ephod 24Ephraim son of Joseph — Kemuel son of Shiphtan 25Zebulun — Elizaphan son of Parnach 26Issachar — Paltiel son of Azzan 27Asher — Ahihud son of Shelomi 28Naphtali — Pedahel son of Ammihud
29These are the men the Lord has appointed to divide the grants of land in Canaan among the Israelites.'
