2The sons of Kohath were Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel. 3The children of Amram were Aaron, Moses, and Miriam. And the sons of Aaron were Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar. 4Eleazar fathered Phinehas, Phinehas fathered Abishua, 5Abishua fathered Bukki, Bukki fathered Uzzi, 6Uzzi fathered Zerahiah, Zerahiah fathered Meraioth, 7Meraioth fathered Amariah, Amariah fathered Ahitub, 8Ahitub fathered Zadok, Zadok fathered Ahimaaz, 9Ahimaaz fathered Azariah, Azariah fathered Johanan, 10Johanan fathered Azariah (it was he who served as the priest in the house which Solomon built in Jerusalem), 11Azariah fathered Amariah, Amariah fathered Ahitub, 12Ahitub fathered Zadok, Zadok fathered Shallum, 13Shallum fathered Hilkiah, Hilkiah fathered Azariah, 14Azariah fathered Seraiah, and Seraiah fathered Jehozadak; 15Jehozadak went along when the Lord led Judah and Jerusalem into exile by Nebuchadnezzar.
16The sons of Levi were Gershom, Kohath, and Merari.
17These are the names of the sons of Gershom: Libni and Shimei.
18The sons of Kohath were Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel.
19The sons of Merari were Mahli and Mushi. And these are the families of the Levites according to their fathers’ households.
20Of Gershom: Libni his son, Jahath his son, Zimmah his son,
21Joah his son, Iddo his son, Zerah his son, and Jeatherai his son.
22The sons of Kohath were Amminadab his son, Korah his son, Assir his son,
23Elkanah his son, Ebiasaph his son, Assir his son,
24Tahath his son, Uriel his son, Uzziah his son, and Shaul his son.
25The sons of Elkanah were Amasai and Ahimoth.
26As for Elkanah, the sons of Elkanah were Zophai his son, Nahath his son,
27Eliab his son, Jeroham his son, and Elkanah his son.
28The sons of Samuel were Joel, the firstborn, and Abijah, the second.
29The sons of Merari were Mahli, Libni his son, Shimei his son, Uzzah his son,
30Shimea his son, Haggiah his son, and Asaiah his son.
31Now these are the ones whom David appointed over the service of song in the house of the Lord, after the ark rested there.
32They were ministering in song in front of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting until Solomon’s building of the house of the Lord in Jerusalem; and they served in their office according to their order.
33These are the ones who served with their sons: From the sons of the Kohathites were Heman the singer, the son of Joel, the son of Samuel,
34the son of Elkanah, the son of Jeroham, the son of Eliel, the son of Toah,
35the son of Zuph, the son of Elkanah, the son of Mahath, the son of Amasai,
36the son of Elkanah, the son of Joel, the son of Azariah, the son of Zephaniah,
37the son of Tahath, the son of Assir, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah,
38the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, the son of Israel.
39Heman’s brother Asaph stood at his right hand, Asaph the son of Berechiah, the son of Shimea,
40the son of Michael, the son of Baaseiah, the son of Malchijah,
41the son of Ethni, the son of Zerah, the son of Adaiah,
42the son of Ethan, the son of Zimmah, the son of Shimei,
43the son of Jahath, the son of Gershom, the son of Levi.
44On the left hand were their kinsmen the sons of Merari: Ethan the son of Kishi, the son of Abdi, the son of Malluch,
45the son of Hashabiah, the son of Amaziah, the son of Hilkiah,
46the son of Amzi, the son of Bani, the son of Shemer,
47the son of Mahli, the son of Mushi, the son of Merari, the son of Levi.
48Their kinsmen the Levites were appointed for all the service of the tabernacle of the house of God.
49But Aaron and his sons offered on the altar of burnt offering and on the altar of incense, for all the work of the Most Holy Place, and to make atonement for Israel, in accordance with everything that Moses the servant of God had commanded.
50These are the sons of Aaron: Eleazar his son, Phinehas his son, Abishua his son,
51Bukki his son, Uzzi his son, Zerahiah his son,
52Meraioth his son, Amariah his son, Ahitub his son,
53Zadok his son, and Ahimaaz his son.
54Now these are their settlements according to their camps within their borders. To the sons of Aaron of the families of the Kohathites (for theirs was the first lot),
55to them they gave Hebron in the land of Judah and its pasture lands around it;
56but they gave the fields of the city and its settlements to Caleb the son of Jephunneh.
57To the sons of Aaron they gave the following cities of refuge: Hebron, Libnah together with its pasture lands, Jattir, Eshtemoa with its pasture lands,
58Hilen with its pasture lands, Debir with its pasture lands,
59Ashan with its pasture lands, and Beth-shemesh with its pasture lands;
60and from the tribe of Benjamin: Geba with its pasture lands, Allemeth with its pasture lands, and Anathoth with its pasture lands. Their cities throughout their families were thirteen cities in all.
61Then to the rest of the sons of Kohath were given by lot, from the family of the tribe, from the half-tribe, the half of Manasseh, ten cities.
62To the sons of Gershom, according to their families, were given from the tribe of Issachar, the tribe of Asher, the tribe of Naphtali, and the tribe of Manasseh, thirteen cities in Bashan.
63To the sons of Merari were given by lot, according to their families, from the tribe of Reuben, the tribe of Gad, and the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities.
64So the sons of Israel gave the Levites the cities with their pasture lands.
65They gave by lot from the tribe of the sons of Judah, the tribe of the sons of Simeon, and the tribe of the sons of Benjamin, these cities which are mentioned by name.
66Now some of the families of the sons of Kohath had cities of their territory from the tribe of Ephraim.
67They gave to them the following cities of refuge: Shechem in the hill country of Ephraim with its pasture lands, Gezer with its pasture lands,
68Jokmeam with its pasture lands, Beth-horon with its pasture lands,
69Aijalon with its pasture lands, and Gath-rimmon with its pasture lands;
70and from the half-tribe of Manasseh: Aner with its pasture lands and Bileam with its pasture lands, for the rest of the family of the sons of Kohath.
71To the sons of Gershom were given, from the family of the half-tribe of Manasseh: Golan in Bashan with its pasture lands and Ashtaroth with its pasture lands;
72and from the tribe of Issachar: Kedesh with its pasture lands, Daberath with its pasture lands,
73Ramoth with its pasture lands, and Anem with its pasture lands;
74and from the tribe of Asher: Mashal with its pasture lands, Abdon with its pasture lands,
75Hukok with its pasture lands, and Rehob with its pasture lands;
76and from the tribe of Naphtali: Kedesh in Galilee with its pasture lands, Hammon with its pasture lands, and Kiriathaim with its pasture lands.

33And these are they that waited with their children. Of the sons of the Kohathites: Heman a singer, the son of Joel, the son of Shemuel,

49But Aaron and his sons offered upon the altar of the burnt offering, and on the altar of incense, and were appointed for all the work of the place most holy, and to make an atonement for Israel, according to all that Moses the servant of God had commanded.
50And these are the sons of Aaron; Eleazar his son, Phinehas his son, Abishua his son,

52Meraioth his son, Amariah his son, Ahitub his son,

55And they gave them Hebron in the land of Judah, and the suburbs thereof round about it.
56But the fields of the city, and the villages thereof, they gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh.
57And to the sons of Aaron they gave the cities of Judah, namely, Hebron, the city of refuge, and Libnah with her suburbs, and Jattir, and Eshtemoa, with their suburbs,
58And Hilen with her suburbs, Debir with her suburbs,
59And Ashan with her suburbs, and Bethshemesh with her suburbs:
60And out of the tribe of Benjamin; Geba with her suburbs, and Alemeth with her suburbs, and Anathoth with her suburbs. All their cities throughout their families were thirteen cities.
61And unto the sons of Kohath, which were left of the family of that tribe, were cities given out of the half tribe, namely, out of the half tribe of Manasseh, by lot, ten cities.
64And the children of Israel gave to the Levites these cities with their suburbs.
65And they gave by lot out of the tribe of the children of Judah, and out of the tribe of the children of Simeon, and out of the tribe of the children of Benjamin, these cities, which are called by their names.
66And the residue of the families of the sons of Kohath had cities of their coasts out of the tribe of Ephraim.
67And they gave unto them, of the cities of refuge, Shechem in mount Ephraim with her suburbs; they gave also Gezer with her suburbs,
68And Jokmeam with her suburbs, and Bethhoron with her suburbs,
69And Aijalon with her suburbs, and Gathrimmon with her suburbs:
72And out of the tribe of Issachar; Kedesh with her suburbs, Daberath with her suburbs,

32They ministered with song in front of the tabernacle, the tent of meeting, until Solomon built the Lord’s temple in Jerusalem, and they performed their task according to the regulations given to them.
48Their relatives, the Levites, were assigned to all the service of the tabernacle, God’s temple.
49But Aaron and his sons did all the work of the most holy place. They presented the offerings on the altar of burnt offerings and on the altar of incense to make atonement for Israel according to all that Moses the servant of God had commanded.
54These were the places assigned to Aaron’s descendants from the Kohathite family for their settlements in their territory, because the first lot was for them.
55They were given Hebron in the land of Judah and its surrounding pasturelands,
56but the fields and settlements around the city were given to Caleb son of Jephunneh.
57Aaron’s descendants were given: Hebron (a city of refuge), Libnah and its pasturelands, Jattir, Eshtemoa and its pasturelands,
58Hilen and its pasturelands, Debir and its pasturelands,

60From the tribe of Benjamin they were given Geba and its pasturelands, Alemeth and its pasturelands, and Anathoth and its pasturelands. They had thirteen towns in all among their families.
63The Merarites were assigned by lot twelve towns from the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and Zebulun according to their families.
64So the Israelites gave these towns and their pasturelands to the Levites.
65They assigned by lot the towns named above from the tribes of the descendants of Judah, Simeon, and Benjamin.
67Shechem (a city of refuge) with its pasturelands in the hill country of Ephraim, Gezer and its pasturelands,
68Jokmeam and its pasturelands, Beth-horon and its pasturelands,
69Aijalon and its pasturelands, and Gath-rimmon and its pasturelands.
70From half the tribe of Manasseh, Aner and its pasturelands, and Bileam and its pasturelands were given to the rest of the families of the Kohathites.

71To the Gershomites were given out of the clan of the half-tribe of Manasseh: Golan in Bashan with its pasturelands and Ashtaroth with its pasturelands;
72and out of the tribe of Issachar: Kedesh with its pasturelands, Daberath with its pasturelands,
73Ramoth with its pasturelands, and Anem with its pasturelands;
74out of the tribe of Asher: Mashal with its pasturelands, Abdon with its pasturelands,
75Hukok with its pasturelands, and Rehob with its pasturelands;
76and out of the tribe of Naphtali: Kedesh in Galilee with its pasturelands, Hammon with its pasturelands, and Kiriathaim with its pasturelands.

31These are the men David put in charge of the music in the house of the Lord after the ark came to rest there.
32They ministered with music before the tabernacle, the tent of meeting, until Solomon built the temple of the Lord in Jerusalem. They performed their duties according to the regulations laid down for them.
48Their fellow Levites were assigned to all the other duties of the tabernacle, the house of God.
49But Aaron and his descendants were the ones who presented offerings on the altar of burnt offering and on the altar of incense in connection with all that was done in the Most Holy Place, making atonement for Israel, in accordance with all that Moses the servant of God had commanded.
55They were given Hebron in Judah with its surrounding pasturelands.
56But the fields and villages around the city were given to Caleb son of Jephunneh.
57So the descendants of Aaron were given Hebron (a city of refuge), and Libnah, Jattir, Eshtemoa,
58Hilen, Debir,
59Ashan, Juttah and Beth Shemesh, together with their pasturelands.
64So the Israelites gave the Levites these towns and their pasturelands.
65From the tribes of Judah, Simeon and Benjamin they allotted the previously named towns.

2The sons of Kohath were Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel. 3The children of Amram were Aaron, Moses, and Miriam. And the sons of Aaron were Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar. 4Eleazar begot Phinehas, and Phinehas begot Abishua; 5Abishua begot Bukki, and Bukki begot Uzzi; 6Uzzi begot Zerahiah, and Zerahiah begot Meraioth; 7Meraioth begot Amariah, and Amariah begot Ahitub; 8Ahitub begot Zadok, and Zadok begot Ahimaaz; 9Ahimaaz begot Azariah, and Azariah begot Johanan; 10Johanan begot Azariah (it was he who ministered as priest in the temple that Solomon built in Jerusalem); 11Azariah begot Amariah, and Amariah begot Ahitub; 12Ahitub begot Zadok, and Zadok begot Shallum; 13Shallum begot Hilkiah, and Hilkiah begot Azariah; 14Azariah begot Seraiah, and Seraiah begot Jehozadak. 15Jehozadak went into captivity when the Lord carried Judah and Jerusalem into captivity by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar.

61To the rest of the family of the tribe of the Kohathites they gave by lot ten cities from half the tribe of Manasseh.
62And to the sons of Gershon, throughout their families, they gave thirteen cities from the tribe of Issachar, from the tribe of Asher, from the tribe of Naphtali, and from the tribe of Manasseh in Bashan.
63To the sons of Merari, throughout their families, they gave twelve cities from the tribe of Reuben, from the tribe of Gad, and from the tribe of Zebulun.
64So the children of Israel gave these cities with their common-lands to the Levites.
65And they gave by lot from the tribe of the children of Judah, from the tribe of the children of Simeon, and from the tribe of the children of Benjamin these cities which are called by their names.
66Now some of the families of the sons of Kohath were given cities as their territory from the tribe of Ephraim.
67And they gave them one of the cities of refuge, Shechem with its common-lands, in the mountains of Ephraim, also Gezer with its common-lands,
68Jokmeam with its common-lands, Beth Horon with its common-lands,
69Aijalon with its common-lands, and Gath Rimmon with its common-lands.
70And from the half-tribe of Manasseh: Aner with its common-lands and Bileam with its common-lands, for the rest of the family of the sons of Kohath.
71From the family of the half-tribe of Manasseh the sons of Gershon were given Golan in Bashan with its common-lands and Ashtaroth with its common-lands.
