1 Corinthians 1:14-20
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 1
14I am thankful that I baptized none of you except Crispus and Gaius, 15so that no one would say you were baptized in my name! 16But I did baptize the household of Stephanas also; beyond that, I do not know if I baptized anyone else. 17For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with cleverness of speech, so that the cross of Christ would not be made of no effect.King James Version
Chapter 1
14I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius; 15Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name. 16And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other. 17For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 1
14I thank God that I baptized none of you except Crispus and Gaius, 15so that no one can say you were baptized in my name. 16I did, in fact, baptize the household of Stephanas; beyond that, I don’t recall if I baptized anyone else. 17For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel—not with eloquent wisdom, so that the cross of Christ will not be emptied of its effect.New Living Translation
Chapter 1
14I thank God that I did not baptize any of you except Crispus and Gaius, 15for now no one can say they were baptized in my name. 16(Oh yes, I also baptized the household of Stephanas, but I don’t remember baptizing anyone else.) 17For Christ didn’t send me to baptize, but to preach the Good News — and not with clever speech, for fear that the cross of Christ would lose its power.English Standard Version
