1 Corinthians 12:14-20
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 12
14For the body is not one part, but many. 15If the foot says, 'Because I am not a hand, I am not a part of the body,' it is not for this reason any less a part of the body. 16And if the ear says, 'Because I am not an eye, I am not a part of the body,' it is not for this reason any less a part of the body. 17If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole body were hearing, where would the sense of smell be? 18But now God has arranged the parts, each one of them in the body, just as He desired. 19If they were all one part, where would the body be? 20But now there are many parts, but one body.King James Version
Chapter 12
14For the body is not one member, but many. 15If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? 16And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? 17If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling? 18But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. 19And if they were all one member, where were the body? 20But now are they many members, yet but one body.Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 12
14Indeed, the body is not one part but many. 15If the foot should say, "Because I’m not a hand, I don’t belong to the body," it is not for that reason any less a part of the body. 16And if the ear should say, "Because I’m not an eye, I don’t belong to the body," it is not for that reason any less a part of the body. 17If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? 18But as it is, God has arranged each one of the parts in the body just as he wanted. 19And if they were all the same part, where would the body be? 20As it is, there are many parts, but one body.New Living Translation
Chapter 12
14Yes, the body has many different parts, not just one part. 15If the foot says, 'I am not a part of the body because I am not a hand,' that does not make it any less a part of the body. 16And if the ear says, 'I am not part of the body because I am not an eye,' would that make it any less a part of the body? 17If the whole body were an eye, how would you hear? Or if your whole body were an ear, how would you smell anything?English Standard Version
Chapter 12
14For the body does not consist of one member but of many. 15If the foot should say, "Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body," that would not make it any less a part of the body. 16And if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body," that would not make it any less a part of the body. 17If the whole body were an eye, where would be the sense of hearing? If the whole body were an ear, where would be the sense of smell? 18But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as he chose. 19If all were a single member, where would the body be? 20As it is, there are many parts, yet one body.New International Version
15Now if the foot should say, "Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason stop being part of the body.
16And if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason stop being part of the body.
17If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be?
18But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be.
19If they were all one part, where would the body be?
20As it is, there are many parts, but one body.
New King James Version
15If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body?
16And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body?
17If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where would be the smelling?
18But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased.
19And if they were all one member, where would the body be?
