Chapter 19
2Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, 'So may the gods do to me and more so, if by about this time tomorrow I do not make your life like the life of one of them.' 3And he was afraid, and got up and ran for his life and came to Beersheba, which belongs to Judah; and he left his servant there. 4But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a broom tree; and he asked for himself to die, and said, 'Enough! Now, Lord, take my life, for I am no better than my fathers.' 5Then he lay down and fell asleep under a broom tree; but behold, there was an angel touching him, and he said to him, 'Arise, eat!' 6And he looked, and behold, there was at his head a round loaf of bread baked on hot coals, and a pitcher of water. So he ate and drank, and lay down again. 7But the angel of the Lord came back a second time and touched him, and said, 'Arise, eat; because the journey is too long for you.' 8So he arose and ate and drank, and he journeyed in the strength of that food for forty days and forty nights to Horeb, the mountain of God.King James Version

4But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O Lord, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.
5And as he lay and slept under a juniper tree, behold, then an angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat.
6And he looked, and, behold, there was a cake baken on the coals, and a cruse of water at his head. And he did eat and drink, and laid him down again.
7And the angel of the Lord came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too great for thee.
8And he arose, and did eat and drink, and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights unto Horeb the mount of God.

3Then Elijah became afraid and immediately ran for his life. When he came to Beer-sheba that belonged to Judah, he left his servant there,
4but he went on a day’s journey into the wilderness. He sat down under a broom tree and prayed that he might die. He said, "I have had enough! Lord, take my life, for I’m no better than my fathers."
5Then he lay down and slept under the broom tree. Suddenly, an angel touched him. The angel told him, "Get up and eat."
6Then he looked, and there at his head was a loaf of bread baked over hot stones, and a jug of water. So he ate and drank and lay down again.
7Then the angel of the Lord returned for a second time and touched him. He said, "Get up and eat, or the journey will be too much for you."
8So he got up, ate, and drank. Then on the strength from that food, he walked forty days and forty nights to Horeb, the mountain of God.

3Elijah was afraid and fled for his life. He went to Beersheba, a town in Judah, and he left his servant there.
4Then he went on alone into the wilderness, traveling all day. He sat down under a solitary broom tree and prayed that he might die. 'I have had enough, Lord,' he said. 'Take my life, for I am no better than my ancestors who have already died.'

6He looked around, and there by his head was some bread baked over hot coals, and a jar of water. He ate and drank and then lay down again.
