Chapter 9

1Now it came about when Solomon had finished building the house of the Lord and the king’s house, and all that Solomon desired to do, 2that the Lord appeared to Solomon a second time, as He had appeared to him at Gibeon. 3And the Lord said to him, 'I have heard your prayer and your plea which you have offered before Me; I have consecrated this house which you have built, by putting My name there forever, and My eyes and My heart will be there always. 4As for you, if you walk before Me as your father David walked, in integrity of heart and honesty, acting in accordance with everything that I have commanded you, and if you keep My statutes and My ordinances,

1And it came to pass, when Solomon had finished the building of the house of the Lord, and the king's house, and all Solomon's desire which he was pleased to do, 2That the Lord appeared to Solomon the second time, as he had appeared unto him at Gibeon. 3And the Lord said unto him, I have heard thy prayer and thy supplication, that thou hast made before me: I have hallowed this house, which thou hast built, to put my name there for ever; and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually. 4And if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and my judgments:

Chapter 9

1When Solomon finished building the temple of the Lord, the royal palace, and all that Solomon desired to do, 2the Lord appeared to Solomon a second time just as he had appeared to him at Gibeon.
3The Lord said to him: I have heard your prayer and petition you have made before me. I have consecrated this temple you have built, to put my name there forever; my eyes and my heart will be there at all times.
4As for you, if you walk before me as your father David walked, with a heart of integrity and in what is right, doing everything I have commanded you, and if you keep my statutes and ordinances,

Chapter 9

1So Solomon finished building the Temple of the Lord, as well as the royal palace. He completed everything he had planned to do. 2Then the Lord appeared to Solomon a second time, as he had done before at Gibeon.
3The Lord said to him, 'I have heard your prayer and your petition. I have set this Temple apart to be holy — this place you have built where my name will be honored forever. I will always watch over it, for it is dear to my heart.
4'As for you, if you will follow me with integrity and godliness, as David your father did, obeying all my commands, decrees, and regulations,
