2 Chronicles 10:15-16
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 10
15
So the king did not listen to the people, because it was a turn of events from God so that the
Lord
might establish His word, which He spoke through Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam the son of Nebat.
16
When all Israel
saw
that the king had not listened to them, the people replied to the king, saying,
'What share do we have in David?
We have
no inheritance in the son of Jesse.
Everyone to your tents, Israel!
Now look after your own house, David!'
So all Israel went
away
to their tents.
King James Version
Chapter 10
15
So the king hearkened not unto the people: for the cause was of God, that the
Lord
might perform his word, which he spake by the hand of Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam the son of Nebat.
16
And when all Israel saw that the king would not hearken unto them, the people answered the king, saying, What portion have we in David? and we have none inheritance in the son of Jesse: every man to your tents, O Israel: and now, David, see to thine own house. So all Israel went to their tents.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 10
15
The king did not listen to the people because the turn of events came from God, in order that the
Lord
might carry out his word that he had spoken through Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam son of Nebat.
16
When all Israel saw that the king had not listened to them, the people answered the king:
What portion do we have in David?
We have no inheritance in the son of Jesse.
Israel, each to your tent;
David, look after your own house now!
So all Israel went to their tents.
New Living Translation
Chapter 10
15
So the king paid no attention to the people. This turn of events was the will of God, for it fulfilled the
Lord
’s message to Jeroboam son of Nebat through the prophet Ahijah from Shiloh.
16
When all Israel realized that the king had refused to listen to them, they responded,
'Down with the dynasty of David!
We have no interest in the son of Jesse.
Back to your homes, O Israel!
Look out for your own house, O David!'
So all the people of Israel returned home.
English Standard Version
Chapter 10
15
So the king did not listen to the people, for it was a turn of affairs brought about by God that the
Lord
might fulfill his word, which he spoke by Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam the son of Nebat.
16
And when all Israel saw that the king did not listen to them, the people answered the king, "What portion have we in David? We have no inheritance in the son of Jesse. Each of you to your tents, O Israel! Look now to your own house, David." So all Israel went to their tents.
New International Version
Chapter 10
15
So the king did not listen to the people, for this turn of events was from God, to fulfill the word the
Lord
had spoken to Jeroboam son of Nebat through Ahijah the Shilonite.
16
When all Israel saw that the king refused to listen to them, they answered the king:
"What share do we have in David,
what part in Jesse’s son?
To your tents, Israel!
Look after your own house, David!"
So all the Israelites went home.
New King James Version
Chapter 10
15
So the king did not listen to the people; for the turn
of events
was from God, that the
Lord
might fulfill His word, which He had spoken by the hand of Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam the son of Nebat.
16
Now when all Israel
saw
that the king did not listen to them, the people answered the king, saying:
“What share have we in David?
We have
no inheritance in the son of Jesse.
Every man to your tents, O Israel!
Now see to your own house, O David!”
So all Israel departed to their tents.
