Chapter 24

4Now it came about after this that Joash decided to restore the house of the Lord. 5He gathered the priests and Levites and said to them, 'Go out to the cities of Judah and collect money from all Israel to repair the house of your God annually, and you shall do the work quickly.' But the Levites did not act quickly.

4And it came to pass after this, that Joash was minded to repair the house of the Lord. 5And he gathered together the priests and the Levites, and said to them, Go out unto the cities of Judah, and gather of all Israel money to repair the house of your God from year to year, and see that ye hasten the matter. Howbeit the Levites hastened it not.

Chapter 24

4Afterward, Joash took it to heart to renovate the Lord’s temple.
5So he gathered the priests and Levites and said, "Go out to the cities of Judah and collect silver from all Israel to repair the temple of your God as needed year by year, and do it quickly." However, the Levites did not hurry.

4At one point Joash decided to repair and restore the Temple of the Lord. 5He summoned the priests and Levites and gave them these instructions: 'Go to all the towns of Judah and collect the required annual offerings, so that we can repair the Temple of your God. Do not delay!' But the Levites did not act immediately.
