So Hezekiah said, 'It is easy for the shadow to decline ten steps; no, but have the shadow turn backward ten steps.'

Then Isaiah the prophet called out to the
Lord
, and He brought the shadow on the stairway back ten steps by which it had gone down on the stairway of Ahaz.

And Hezekiah answered, It is a light thing for the shadow to go down ten degrees: nay, but let the shadow return backward ten degrees.

And Isaiah the prophet cried unto the
Lord
: and he brought the shadow ten degrees backward, by which it had gone down in the dial of Ahaz.

Then Hezekiah answered, "It’s easy for the shadow to lengthen ten steps. No, let the shadow go back ten steps."

So the prophet Isaiah called out to the
Lord
, and he brought the shadow back the ten steps it had descended on the stairway of Ahaz.

The shadow always moves forward,' Hezekiah replied, 'so that would be easy. Make it go ten steps backward instead.'

So Isaiah the prophet asked the
Lord
to do this, and he caused the shadow to move ten steps backward on the sundial of Ahaz!
