2 Timothy 2:2-6
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 2
2The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful people who will be able to teach others also. 3Suffer hardship with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. 4No soldier in active service entangles himself in the affairs of everyday life, so that he may please the one who enlisted him. 5And if someone likewise competes as an athlete, he is not crowned as victor unless he competes according to the rules. 6The hard-working farmer ought to be the first to receive his share of the crops.King James Version
Christian Standard Bible
3Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.
4No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in the concerns of civilian life; he seeks to please the commanding officer.
5Also, if anyone competes as an athlete, he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules.
6The hardworking farmer ought to be the first to get a share of the crops.
New Living Translation
3Endure suffering along with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.
4Soldiers don’t get tied up in the affairs of civilian life, for then they cannot please the officer who enlisted them.
5And athletes cannot win the prize unless they follow the rules.
6And hardworking farmers should be the first to enjoy the fruit of their labor.

Chapter 2
2And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others. 3Join with me in suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. 4No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his commanding officer. 5Similarly, anyone who competes as an athlete does not receive the victor’s crown except by competing according to the rules. 6The hardworking farmer should be the first to receive a share of the crops.New King James Version
