Acts 1:14-21
New American Standard Bible
15At this time Peter stood up among the brothers and sisters (a group of about 120 people was there together), and said,
16Brothers, the Scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit foretold by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus.
17For he was counted among us and received his share in this ministry.'
18(Now this man acquired a field with the price of his wickedness, and falling headlong, he burst open in the middle and all his intestines gushed out.
19And it became known to all the residents of Jerusalem; as a result that field was called Hakeldama in their own language, that is, Field of Blood.)
King James Version
15And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,)
16Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.
17For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry.
18Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.
Christian Standard Bible
15In those days Peter stood up among the brothers and sisters —the number of people who were together was about a hundred and twenty—and said:
16"Brothers and sisters, it was necessary that the Scripture be fulfilled that the Holy Spirit through the mouth of David foretold about Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus.
17For he was one of our number and shared in this ministry."
18Now this man acquired a field with his unrighteous wages. He fell headfirst, his body burst open and his intestines spilled out.
19This became known to all the residents of Jerusalem, so that in their own language that field is called Hakeldama (that is, Field of Blood).
New Living Translation
15During this time, when about 120 believers were together in one place, Peter stood up and addressed them.
16Brothers,' he said, 'the Scriptures had to be fulfilled concerning Judas, who guided those who arrested Jesus. This was predicted long ago by the Holy Spirit, speaking through King David.
17Judas was one of us and shared in the ministry with us.'
English Standard Version
15In those days Peter stood up among the brothers (the company of persons was in all about 120) and said,
16"Brothers, the Scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke beforehand by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus.
17For he was numbered among us and was allotted his share in this ministry."
18(Now this man acquired a field with the reward of his wickedness, and falling headlong he burst open in the middle and all his bowels gushed out.
19And it became known to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the field was called in their own language Akeldama, that is, Field of Blood.)
20"For it is written in the Book of Psalms, "‘May his camp become desolate, and let there be no one to dwell in it’; and "‘Let another take his office.’
