37Now when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, 'Brothers, what are we to do?' 38Peter said to them, 'Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far away, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself.' 40And with many other words he solemnly testified and kept on urging them, saying, 'Be saved from this perverse generation!'King James Version

38Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39For the promise is for you and for your children, and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call."
40With many other words he testified and strongly urged them, saying, "Be saved from this corrupt generation!"

38Peter replied, 'Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39This promise is to you, to your children, and to those far away — all who have been called by the Lord our God.'
40Then Peter continued preaching for a long time, strongly urging all his listeners, 'Save yourselves from this crooked generation!'
