Acts 20:17-24
New American Standard Bible
18And when they came to him, he said to them, 'You yourselves know, from the first day that I set foot in Asia, how I was with you the whole time,
19serving the Lord with all humility and with tears and trials which came upon me through the plots of the Jews;
20how I did not shrink from declaring to you anything that was beneficial, and teaching you publicly and from house to house,
21solemnly testifying to both Jews and Greeks of repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.
22And now, behold, bound by the Spirit, I am on my way to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there,
23except that the Holy Spirit solemnly testifies to me in every city, saying that chains and afflictions await me.
24But I do not consider my life of any account as dear to myself, so that I may finish my course and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify solemnly of the gospel of God’s grace.
King James Version
Chapter 20
17And from Miletus he sent to Ephesus, and called the elders of the church. 18And when they were come to him, he said unto them, Ye know, from the first day that I came into Asia, after what manner I have been with you at all seasons, 19Serving the Lord with all humility of mind, and with many tears, and temptations, which befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews:
20And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly, and from house to house,
21Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
22And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there:
23Save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me.

Chapter 20
17Now from Miletus, he sent to Ephesus and summoned the elders of the church. 18When they came to him, he said to them: "You know, from the first day I set foot in Asia, how I was with you the whole time, 19serving the Lord with all humility, with tears, and during the trials that came to me through the plots of the Jews. 20You know that I did not avoid proclaiming to you anything that was profitable or from teaching you publicly and from house to house. 21I testified to both Jews and Greeks about repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus.
22"And now I am on my way to Jerusalem, compelled by the Spirit, not knowing what I will encounter there,
23except that in every town the Holy Spirit warns me that chains and afflictions are waiting for me.
24But I consider my life of no value to myself; my purpose is to finish my course and the ministry I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of God’s grace.
New Living Translation
18When they arrived he declared, 'You know that from the day I set foot in the province of Asia until now
19I have done the Lord’s work humbly and with many tears. I have endured the trials that came to me from the plots of the Jews.
20I never shrank back from telling you what you needed to hear, either publicly or in your homes.
21I have had one message for Jews and Greeks alike — the necessity of repenting from sin and turning to God, and of having faith in our Lord Jesus.
22And now I am bound by the Spirit to go to Jerusalem. I don’t know what awaits me,
23except that the Holy Spirit tells me in city after city that jail and suffering lie ahead.
24But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus — the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.

Chapter 20
17Now from Miletus he sent to Ephesus and called the elders of the church to come to him. 18And when they came to him, he said to them: "You yourselves know how I lived among you the whole time from the first day that I set foot in Asia,
19serving the Lord with all humility and with tears and with trials that happened to me through the plots of the Jews;
20how I did not shrink from declaring to you anything that was profitable, and teaching you in public and from house to house,
21testifying both to Jews and to Greeks of repentance toward God and of faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.
22And now, behold, I am going to Jerusalem, constrained by the Spirit, not knowing what will happen to me there,
23except that the Holy Spirit testifies to me in every city that imprisonment and afflictions await me.
24But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.
New International Version
Chapter 20
17From Miletus, Paul sent to Ephesus for the elders of the church. 18When they arrived, he said to them: "You know how I lived the whole time I was with you, from the first day I came into the province of Asia. 19I served the Lord with great humility and with tears and in the midst of severe testing by the plots of my Jewish opponents. 20You know that I have not hesitated to preach anything that would be helpful to you but have taught you publicly and from house to house. 21I have declared to both Jews and Greeks that they must turn to God in repentance and have faith in our Lord Jesus.
22"And now, compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there.
23I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me.
24However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.
