Acts 5:9-16
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 5
9Then Peter said to her, 'Why is it that you have agreed together to put the Spirit of the Lord to the test? Behold, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out as well.' 10And immediately she collapsed at his feet and died; and the young men came in and found her dead, and they carried her out and buried her beside her husband. 11And great fear came over the whole church, and over all who heard about these things.
12At the hands of the apostles many signs and wonders were taking place among the people; and they were all together in Solomon’s portico.
13But none of the rest dared to associate with them; however, the people held them in high esteem.
14And increasingly believers in the Lord, large numbers of men and women, were being added to their number,
15to such an extent that they even carried the sick out into the streets and laid them on cots and pallets, so that when Peter came by at least his shadow might fall on any of them.
16The people from the cities in the vicinity of Jerusalem were coming together as well, bringing people who were sick or tormented with unclean spirits, and they were all being healed.
King James Version
Chapter 5
9Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out. 10Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband. 11And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.
12And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon's porch.
13And of the rest durst no man join himself to them: but the people magnified them.
14And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)
15Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.
16There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.
Christian Standard Bible
10Instantly she dropped dead at his feet. When the young men came in, they found her dead, carried her out, and buried her beside her husband.
11Then great fear came on the whole church and on all who heard these things.
12Many signs and wonders were being done among the people through the hands of the apostles. They were all together in Solomon’s Colonnade.
13No one else dared to join them, but the people spoke well of them.
14Believers were added to the Lord in increasing numbers—multitudes of both men and women.
15As a result, they would carry the sick out into the streets and lay them on cots and mats so that when Peter came by, at least his shadow might fall on some of them.
16In addition, a multitude came together from the towns surrounding Jerusalem, bringing the sick and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed.
New Living Translation
10Instantly, she fell to the floor and died. When the young men came in and saw that she was dead, they carried her out and buried her beside her husband.
11Great fear gripped the entire church and everyone else who heard what had happened.
12The apostles were performing many miraculous signs and wonders among the people. And all the believers were meeting regularly at the Temple in the area known as Solomon’s Colonnade.
13But no one else dared to join them, even though all the people had high regard for them.
14Yet more and more people believed and were brought to the Lord — crowds of both men and women.
15As a result of the apostles’ work, sick people were brought out into the streets on beds and mats so that Peter’s shadow might fall across some of them as he went by.
16Crowds came from the villages around Jerusalem, bringing their sick and those possessed by evil spirits, and they were all healed.

13None of the rest dared join them, but the people held them in high esteem.
14And more than ever believers were added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women,
15so that they even carried out the sick into the streets and laid them on cots and mats, that as Peter came by at least his shadow might fall on some of them.
16The people also gathered from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing the sick and those afflicted with unclean spirits, and they were all healed.

13No one else dared join them, even though they were highly regarded by the people.
14Nevertheless, more and more men and women believed in the Lord and were added to their number.
