Acts 8:10-21
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 8
10and all the people, from small to great, were paying attention to him, saying, 'This man is the Power of God that is called Great.' 11And they were paying attention to him because for a long time he had astounded them with his magic arts. 12But when they believed Philip as he was preaching the good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were being baptized. 13Now even Simon himself believed; and after being baptized, he continued on with Philip, and as he observed signs and great miracles taking place, he was repeatedly amazed.
14Now when the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent them Peter and John,
15who came down and prayed for them that they would receive the Holy Spirit.
16(For He had not yet fallen upon any of them; they had simply been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
17Then they began laying their hands on them, and they were receiving the Holy Spirit.
18Now when Simon saw that the Spirit was given through the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them money,
19saying, 'Give this authority to me as well, so that everyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit.'
20But Peter said to him, 'May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could acquire the gift of God with money!
21You have no part or share in this matter, for your heart is not right before God.

Chapter 8
10To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God. 11And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries. 12But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. 13Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.
14Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:
15Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:
16For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
17Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.
18And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money,
19Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.
20But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.
21Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.

Chapter 8
10They all paid attention to him, from the least of them to the greatest, and they said, "This man is called the Great Power of God." 11They were attentive to him because he had amazed them with his sorceries for a long time. 12But when they believed Philip, as he proclaimed the good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were baptized. 13Even Simon himself believed. And after he was baptized, he followed Philip everywhere and was amazed as he observed the signs and great miracles that were being performed.
14When the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them.
15After they went down there, they prayed for them so the Samaritans might receive the Holy Spirit because he had not yet come down on any of them.
16(They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. )
17Then Peter and John laid their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.

Chapter 8
10Everyone, from the least to the greatest, often spoke of him as 'the Great One — the Power of God.' 11They listened closely to him because for a long time he had astounded them with his magic.
12But now the people believed Philip’s message of Good News concerning the Kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ. As a result, many men and women were baptized.
13Then Simon himself believed and was baptized. He began following Philip wherever he went, and he was amazed by the signs and great miracles Philip performed.
14When the apostles in Jerusalem heard that the people of Samaria had accepted God’s message, they sent Peter and John there.
15As soon as they arrived, they prayed for these new believers to receive the Holy Spirit.
16The Holy Spirit had not yet come upon any of them, for they had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
17Then Peter and John laid their hands upon these believers, and they received the Holy Spirit.
