Daniel 10:9-17
New American Standard Bible
10Then behold, a hand touched me and shook me on my hands and knees.
11And he said to me, 'Daniel, you who are treasured, understand the words that I am about to tell you and stand at your place, for I have now been sent to you.' And when he had spoken this word to me, I stood up trembling.
12Then he said to me, 'Do not be afraid, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart on understanding this and on humbling yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to your words.
13But the prince of the kingdom of Persia was standing in my way for twenty-one days; then behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left there with the kings of Persia.
14Now I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people in the latter days, because the vision pertains to the days still future.'
15When he had spoken to me according to these words, I turned my face toward the ground and became speechless.
16And behold, one who resembled a human was touching my lips. Then I opened my mouth and spoke and said to him who was standing before me, 'My lord, due to the vision anguish has come upon me, and I have retained no strength.
17For how can such a servant of my lord talk with such as my lord? As for me, there remains just now no strength in me, nor has any breath been left in me.'
King James Version
Chapter 10
9Yet heard I the voice of his words: and when I heard the voice of his words, then was I in a deep sleep on my face, and my face toward the ground. 10And, behold, an hand touched me, which set me upon my knees and upon the palms of my hands. 11And he said unto me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright: for unto thee am I now sent. And when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling. 12Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words. 13But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia. 14Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days.
15And when he had spoken such words unto me, I set my face toward the ground, and I became dumb.
16And, behold, one like the similitude of the sons of men touched my lips: then I opened my mouth, and spake, and said unto him that stood before me, O my lord, by the vision my sorrows are turned upon me, and I have retained no strength.
17For how can the servant of this my lord talk with this my lord? for as for me, straightway there remained no strength in me, neither is there breath left in me.

10Suddenly, a hand touched me and set me shaking on my hands and knees.
11He said to me, "Daniel, you are a man treasured by God. Understand the words that I’m saying to you. Stand on your feet, for I have now been sent to you." After he said this to me, I stood trembling.
12"Don’t be afraid, Daniel," he said to me, "for from the first day that you purposed to understand and to humble yourself before your God, your prayers were heard. I have come because of your prayers.
13But the prince of the kingdom of Persia opposed me for twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me after I had been left there with the kings of Persia.
14Now I have come to help you understand what will happen to your people in the last days, for the vision refers to those days."
15While he was saying these words to me, I turned my face toward the ground and was speechless.
16Suddenly one with human likeness touched my lips. I opened my mouth and said to the one standing in front of me, "My lord, because of the vision, anguish overwhelms me and I am powerless.
17How can someone like me, your servant, speak with someone like you, my lord? Now I have no strength, and there is no breath in me."
New Living Translation
10Just then a hand touched me and lifted me, still trembling, to my hands and knees.
11And the man said to me, 'Daniel, you are very precious to God, so listen carefully to what I have to say to you. Stand up, for I have been sent to you.' When he said this to me, I stood up, still trembling.
12Then he said, 'Don’t be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day you began to pray for understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your request has been heard in heaven. I have come in answer to your prayer.
13But for twenty-one days the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia blocked my way. Then Michael, one of the archangels, came to help me, and I left him there with the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia.
14Now I am here to explain what will happen to your people in the future, for this vision concerns a time yet to come.'
15While he was speaking to me, I looked down at the ground, unable to say a word.
16Then the one who looked like a man touched my lips, and I opened my mouth and began to speak. I said to the one standing in front of me, 'I am filled with anguish because of the vision I have seen, my lord, and I am very weak.
17How can someone like me, your servant, talk to you, my lord? My strength is gone, and I can hardly breathe.'

16And behold, one in the likeness of the children of man touched my lips. Then I opened my mouth and spoke. I said to him who stood before me, "O my lord, by reason of the vision pains have come upon me, and I retain no strength.
17How can my lord 's servant talk with my lord? For now no strength remains in me, and no breath is left in me."

10A hand touched me and set me trembling on my hands and knees.
11He said, "Daniel, you who are highly esteemed, consider carefully the words I am about to speak to you, and stand up, for I have now been sent to you." And when he said this to me, I stood up trembling.
12Then he continued, "Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them.
13But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia.
14Now I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people in the future, for the vision concerns a time yet to come."
15While he was saying this to me, I bowed with my face toward the ground and was speechless.
16Then one who looked like a man touched my lips, and I opened my mouth and began to speak. I said to the one standing before me, "I am overcome with anguish because of the vision, my lord, and I feel very weak.
17How can I, your servant, talk with you, my lord? My strength is gone and I can hardly breathe."
