Chapter 27
3and say to Tyre, who sits at the entrance to the sea, merchant of the peoples to many coastlands, ‘This is what the Lord God says: 'Tyre, you have said, ‘I am perfect in beauty.’ 4Your borders are in the heart of the seas; Your builders have perfected your beauty. 5They have made all your planks of juniper trees from Senir; They have taken a cedar from Lebanon to make a mast for you. 6Of oaks from Bashan they have made your rudders; With ivory they have inlaid your deck of boxwood from the coastlands of Cyprus. 7Your sail was of colorfully embroidered linen from Egypt So that it became your flag; Your awning was violet and purple from the coastlands of Elishah. 8The inhabitants of Sidon and Arvad were your rowers; Your wise men, Tyre, were aboard; they were your sailors. 9The elders of Gebal and her wise men were with you repairing your leaks; All the ships of the sea and their sailors were with you in order to deal in your merchandise.
10Persia, Lud, and Put were in your army, your men of war. They hung up shield and helmet on you; they presented your splendor.
11The sons of Arvad and your army were on your walls, all around, and the Gammadim were in your towers. They hung their shields on your walls all around; they perfected your beauty.
12Tarshish was your customer because of the abundance of all kinds of wealth; with silver, iron, tin, and lead they paid for your merchandise.
13Javan, Tubal, and Meshech, they were your traders; with human lives and vessels of bronze they paid for your merchandise.
14Those from Beth-togarmah gave horses, war horses, and mules for your merchandise.
15The sons of Dedan were your traders. Many coastlands were your market; they brought ivory tusks and ebony as your payment.
16Aram was your customer because of the abundance of your goods; they paid for your merchandise with emeralds, purple, colorfully woven cloth, fine linen, coral, and rubies.
17Judah and the land of Israel, they were your traders; with the wheat of Minnith, cakes, honey, oil, and balsam they paid for your merchandise.
18Damascus was your customer because of the abundance of your goods, because of the abundance of all kinds of wealth, because of the wine of Helbon and white wool.
19Vedan and Javan paid for your merchandise from Uzal; wrought iron, cassia, and spice reed were among your merchandise.

11The men of Arvad with thine army were upon thy walls round about, and the Gammadims were in thy towers: they hanged their shields upon thy walls round about; they have made thy beauty perfect.
12Tarshish was thy merchant by reason of the multitude of all kind of riches; with silver, iron, tin, and lead, they traded in thy fairs.
13Javan, Tubal, and Meshech, they were thy merchants: they traded the persons of men and vessels of brass in thy market.
14They of the house of Togarmah traded in thy fairs with horses and horsemen and mules.
15The men of Dedan were thy merchants; many isles were the merchandise of thine hand: they brought thee for a present horns of ivory and ebony.
16Syria was thy merchant by reason of the multitude of the wares of thy making: they occupied in thy fairs with emeralds, purple, and broidered work, and fine linen, and coral, and agate.
17Judah, and the land of Israel, they were thy merchants: they traded in thy market wheat of Minnith, and Pannag, and honey, and oil, and balm.
18Damascus was thy merchant in the multitude of the wares of thy making, for the multitude of all riches; in the wine of Helbon, and white wool.
19Dan also and Javan going to and fro occupied in thy fairs: bright iron, cassia, and calamus, were in thy market.

They took a cedar from Lebanon to make a mast for you. 6They made your oars of oaks from Bashan. They made your deck of cypress wood from the coasts of Cyprus, inlaid with ivory. 7Your sail was made of fine embroidered linen from Egypt, and served as your banner. Your awning was of blue and purple fabric from the coasts of Elishah. 8The inhabitants of Sidon and Arvad were your rowers. Your wise men were within you, Tyre; they were your captains. 9The elders of Gebal and its wise men were within you, repairing your leaks. "‘All the ships of the sea and their sailors came to you to barter for your goods. 10Men of Persia, Lud, and Put were in your army, serving as your warriors. They hung shields and helmets in you; they gave you splendor. 11Men of Arvad and Helech were stationed on your walls all around, and Gammadites were in your towers. They hung their shields all around your walls; they perfected your beauty.
12"‘Tarshish was your trading partner because of your abundant wealth of every kind. They exchanged silver, iron, tin, and lead for your merchandise.
13Javan, Tubal, and Meshech were your merchants. They exchanged slaves and bronze utensils for your goods.
14Those from Beth-togarmah exchanged horses, war horses, and mules for your merchandise.
15Men of Dedan were also your merchants; many coasts and islands were your regular markets. They brought back ivory tusks and ebony as your payment.
16Aram was your trading partner because of your numerous products. They exchanged turquoise, purple and embroidered cloth, fine linen, coral, and rubies for your merchandise.
17Judah and the land of Israel were your merchants. They exchanged wheat from Minnith, meal, honey, oil, and balm, for your goods.
18Damascus was also your trading partner because of your numerous products and your abundant wealth of every kind, trading in wine from Helbon and white wool.
19Vedan and Javan from Uzal dealt in your merchandise; wrought iron, cassia, and aromatic cane were exchanged for your goods.

3that mighty gateway to the sea, the trading center of the world. Give Tyre this message from the Sovereign Lord: 'You boasted, O Tyre, ‘My beauty is perfect!’ 4You extended your boundaries into the sea. Your builders made your beauty perfect. 5You were like a great ship built of the finest cypress from Senir. They took a cedar from Lebanon to make a mast for you. 6They carved your oars from the oaks of Bashan. Your deck of pine from the coasts of Cyprus was inlaid with ivory. 7Your sails were made of Egypt’s finest linen, and they flew as a banner above you. You stood beneath blue and purple awnings made bright with dyes from the coasts of Elishah. 8Your oarsmen came from Sidon and Arvad; your helmsmen were skilled men from Tyre itself. 9Wise old craftsmen from Gebal did the caulking. Ships from every land came with goods to barter for your trade.
10Men from distant Persia, Lydia, and Libya served in your great army. They hung their shields and helmets on your walls, giving you great honor.
11Men from Arvad and Helech stood on your walls. Your towers were manned by men from Gammad. Their shields hung on your walls, completing your beauty.
12Tarshish sent merchants to buy your wares in exchange for silver, iron, tin, and lead.
13Merchants from Greece, Tubal, and Meshech brought slaves and articles of bronze to trade with you.
14From Beth-togarmah came riding horses, chariot horses, and mules, all in exchange for your goods.
15Merchants came to you from Dedan. Numerous coastlands were your captive markets; they brought payment in ivory tusks and ebony wood.

3Say to Tyre, situated at the gateway to the sea, merchant of peoples on many coasts, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: " ‘You say, Tyre, "I am perfect in beauty." 4Your domain was on the high seas; your builders brought your beauty to perfection. 5They made all your timbers of juniper from Senir ; they took a cedar from Lebanon to make a mast for you. 6Of oaks from Bashan they made your oars; of cypress wood from the coasts of Cyprus they made your deck, adorned with ivory. 7Fine embroidered linen from Egypt was your sail and served as your banner; your awnings were of blue and purple from the coasts of Elishah. 8Men of Sidon and Arvad were your oarsmen; your skilled men, Tyre, were aboard as your sailors.
9Veteran craftsmen of Byblos were on board as shipwrights to caulk your seams. All the ships of the sea and their sailors came alongside to trade for your wares.
