Ezekiel 32:6-24
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 32
6I will also make the land drink the discharge of your blood As far as the mountains, And the ravines will be full of you. 7And when I extinguish you, I will cover the heavens and darken their stars; I will cover the sun with a cloud And the moon will not give its light.
9I will also trouble the hearts of many peoples when I bring your destruction among the nations, into lands which you have not known.
10And I will make many peoples appalled at you, and their kings will be horribly afraid of you when I brandish My sword before them; and they will tremble again and again, every person for his own life, on the day of your fall.'
12By the swords of the warriors I will make your multitude fall; all of them are tyrants of the nations, And they will devastate the pride of Egypt, And all its multitude will be destroyed.
13I will also eliminate all its cattle from beside many waters; And a human foot will not muddy them anymore, And the hoofs of animals will not muddy them.
14Then I will make their waters settle, And make their rivers run like oil,' Declares the Lord God.
17In the twelfth year, on the fifteenth of the month, the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
18Son of man, lament for the hordes of Egypt and bring it down, her and the daughters of the mighty nations, to the netherworld, with those who go down to the pit;
20They shall fall in the midst of those who are killed by the sword. She is turned over to the sword; they have dragged her and all her hordes away.
21The strong among the mighty ones shall speak of him and his helpers from the midst of Sheol: ‘They have gone down, they lie still, the uncircumcised, killed by the sword.’
King James Version
10Yea, I will make many people amazed at thee, and their kings shall be horribly afraid for thee, when I shall brandish my sword before them; and they shall tremble at every moment, every man for his own life, in the day of thy fall.
11For thus saith the Lord God; The sword of the king of Babylon shall come upon thee.
16This is the lamentation wherewith they shall lament her: the daughters of the nations shall lament her: they shall lament for her, even for Egypt, and for all her multitude, saith the Lord God.
17It came to pass also in the twelfth year, in the fifteenth day of the month, that the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
18Son of man, wail for the multitude of Egypt, and cast them down, even her, and the daughters of the famous nations, unto the nether parts of the earth, with them that go down into the pit.
19Whom dost thou pass in beauty? go down, and be thou laid with the uncircumcised.
20They shall fall in the midst of them that are slain by the sword: she is delivered to the sword: draw her and all her multitudes.
21The strong among the mighty shall speak to him out of the midst of hell with them that help him: they are gone down, they lie uncircumcised, slain by the sword.

Chapter 32
6I will drench the land with the flow of your blood, even to the mountains; the ravines will be filled with your gore. 7"‘When I snuff you out, I will cover the heavens and darken their stars. I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon will not give its light.
8I will darken all the shining lights in the heavens over you, and will bring darkness on your land. This is the declaration of the Lord God.
9"‘I will trouble the hearts of many peoples, when I bring about your destruction among the nations, in countries you have not known.
10I will cause many peoples to be appalled at you, and their kings will shudder with fear because of you when I brandish my sword in front of them. On the day of your downfall each of them will tremble every moment for his life.
11"‘For this is what the Lord God says: The sword of Babylon’s king will come against you!
12I will make your hordes fall by the swords of warriors, all of them ruthless men from the nations. They will ravage Egypt’s pride, and all its hordes will be destroyed.
13I will slaughter all its cattle that are beside many waters. No human foot will churn them again, and no cattle hooves will disturb them.
14Then I will let their waters settle and will make their rivers flow like oil. This is the declaration of the Lord God.
15When I make the land of Egypt a desolation, so that it is emptied of everything in it, when I strike down all who live there, then they will know that I am the Lord.
17In the twelfth year, on the fifteenth day of the month, the word of the Lord came to me:
18"Son of man, wail over the hordes of Egypt and bring Egypt and the daughters of mighty nations down to the underworld, to be with those who descend to the Pit:
19Who do you surpass in loveliness? Go down and be laid to rest with the uncircumcised!
20They will fall among those slain by the sword. A sword is appointed! They drag her and all her hordes away.
21Warrior leaders will speak from the middle of Sheol about him and his allies: ‘They have come down; the uncircumcised lie slain by the sword.’
22"Assyria is there with her whole assembly; her graves are all around her. All of them are slain, fallen by the sword.
23Her graves are set in the deepest regions of the Pit, and her assembly is all around her burial place. All of them are slain, fallen by the sword— those who once spread terror in the land of the living.
24"Elam is there with all her hordes around her grave. All of them are slain, fallen by the sword— those who went down to the underworld uncircumcised, who once spread their terror in the land of the living. They bear their disgrace with those who descend to the Pit.
New Living Translation
Chapter 32
6I will drench the earth with your gushing blood all the way to the mountains, filling the ravines to the brim. 7When I blot you out, I will veil the heavens and darken the stars. I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon will not give you its light. 8I will darken the bright stars overhead and cover your land in darkness. I, the Sovereign Lord, have spoken!
9I will disturb many hearts when I bring news of your downfall to distant nations you have never seen.
10Yes, I will shock many lands, and their kings will be terrified at your fate. They will shudder in fear for their lives as I brandish my sword before them on the day of your fall.
11For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: 'The sword of the king of Babylon will come against you.
12I will destroy your hordes with the swords of mighty warriors — the terror of the nations. They will shatter the pride of Egypt, and all its hordes will be destroyed.
13I will destroy all your flocks and herds that graze beside the streams. Never again will people or animals muddy those waters with their feet.
14Then I will let the waters of Egypt become calm again, and they will flow as smoothly as olive oil, says the Sovereign Lord.
15And when I destroy Egypt and strip you of everything you own and strike down all your people, then you will know that I am the Lord.
16Yes, this is the funeral song they will sing for Egypt. Let all the nations mourn. Let them mourn for Egypt and its hordes. I, the Sovereign Lord, have spoken!'
17On March 17, during the twelfth year, another message came to me from the Lord:
18Son of man, weep for the hordes of Egypt and for the other mighty nations. For I will send them down to the world below in company with those who descend to the pit.
20The Egyptians will fall with the many who have died by the sword, for the sword is drawn against them. Egypt and its hordes will be dragged away to their judgment.
21Down in the grave mighty leaders will mockingly welcome Egypt and its allies, saying, ‘They have come down; they lie among the outcasts, hordes slaughtered by the sword.’

Chapter 32
6I will drench the land even to the mountains with your flowing blood, and the ravines will be full of you. 7 When I blot you out, I will cover the heavens and make their stars dark; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give its light. 8All the bright lights of heaven will I make dark over you, and put darkness on your land, declares the Lord God. 9"I will trouble the hearts of many peoples, when I bring your destruction among the nations, into the countries that you have not known. 10I will make many peoples appalled at you, and the hair of their kings shall bristle with horror because of you, when I brandish my sword before them. They shall tremble every moment, every one for his own life, on the day of your downfall.
11"For thus says the Lord God: The sword of the king of Babylon shall come upon you.
12I will cause your multitude to fall by the swords of mighty ones, all of them most ruthless of nations. "They shall bring to ruin the pride of Egypt, and all its multitude shall perish.
13I will destroy all its beasts from beside many waters; and no foot of man shall trouble them anymore, nor shall the hoofs of beasts trouble them.
14Then I will make their waters clear, and cause their rivers to run like oil, declares the Lord God.
15When I make the land of Egypt desolate, and when the land is desolate of all that fills it, when I strike down all who dwell in it, then they will know that I am the Lord.
16This is a lamentation that shall be chanted; the daughters of the nations shall chant it; over Egypt, and over all her multitude, shall they chant it, declares the Lord God."
17In the twelfth year, in the twelfth month, on the fifteenth day of the month, the word of the Lord came to me:
18"Son of man, wail over the multitude of Egypt, and send them down, her and the daughters of majestic nations, to the world below, to those who have gone down to the pit:
19 ‘Whom do you surpass in beauty? Go down and be laid to rest with the uncircumcised.’
20They shall fall amid those who are slain by the sword. Egypt is delivered to the sword; drag her away, and all her multitudes.
21The mighty chiefs shall speak of them, with their helpers, out of the midst of Sheol: ‘They have come down, they lie still, the uncircumcised, slain by the sword.’

Chapter 32
6I will drench the land with your flowing blood all the way to the mountains, and the ravines will be filled with your flesh. 7When I snuff you out, I will cover the heavens and darken their stars; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon will not give its light. 8All the shining lights in the heavens I will darken over you; I will bring darkness over your land, declares the Sovereign Lord. 9I will trouble the hearts of many peoples when I bring about your destruction among the nations, among lands you have not known. 10I will cause many peoples to be appalled at you, and their kings will shudder with horror because of you when I brandish my sword before them. 12I will cause your hordes to fall by the swords of mighty men— the most ruthless of all nations. They will shatter the pride of Egypt, and all her hordes will be overthrown.
13I will destroy all her cattle from beside abundant waters no longer to be stirred by the foot of man or muddied by the hooves of cattle.
14Then I will let her waters settle and make her streams flow like oil, declares the Sovereign Lord.
15When I make Egypt desolate and strip the land of everything in it, when I strike down all who live there, then they will know that I am the Lord.’
17In the twelfth year, on the fifteenth day of the month, the word of the Lord came to me:
18"Son of man, wail for the hordes of Egypt and consign to the earth below both her and the daughters of mighty nations, along with those who go down to the pit.
19Say to them, ‘Are you more favored than others? Go down and be laid among the uncircumcised.’
20They will fall among those killed by the sword. The sword is drawn; let her be dragged off with all her hordes.
21From within the realm of the dead the mighty leaders will say of Egypt and her allies, ‘They have come down and they lie with the uncircumcised, with those killed by the sword.’

Chapter 32
6“I will also water the land with the flow of your blood, Even to the mountains; And the riverbeds will be full of you. 7When I put out your light, I will cover the heavens, and make its stars dark; I will cover the sun with a cloud, And the moon shall not give her light. 8All the bright lights of the heavens I will make dark over you, And bring darkness upon your land,” Says the Lord God.
9‘I will also trouble the hearts of many peoples, when I bring your destruction among the nations, into the countries which you have not known.
10Yes, I will make many peoples astonished at you, and their kings shall be horribly afraid of you when I brandish My sword before them; and they shall tremble every moment, every man for his own life, in the day of your fall.
12By the swords of the mighty warriors, all of them the most terrible of the nations, I will cause your multitude to fall. “They shall plunder the pomp of Egypt, And all its multitude shall be destroyed.
13Also I will destroy all its animals From beside its great waters; The foot of man shall muddy them no more, Nor shall the hooves of animals muddy them.
14Then I will make their waters clear, And make their rivers run like oil,” Says the Lord God.
15“When I make the land of Egypt desolate, And the country is destitute of all that once filled it, When I strike all who dwell in it, Then they shall know that I am the Lord.
16“This is the lamentation With which they shall lament her; The daughters of the nations shall lament her; They shall lament for her, for Egypt, And for all her multitude,” Says the Lord God.’ ”
18“Son of man, wail over the multitude of Egypt, And cast them down to the depths of the earth, Her and the daughters of the famous nations, With those who go down to the Pit:
19‘Whom do you surpass in beauty? Go down, be placed with the uncircumcised.’
20“They shall fall in the midst of those slain by the sword; She is delivered to the sword, Drawing her and all her multitudes.
21 The strong among the mighty Shall speak to him out of the midst of hell With those who help him: ‘They have gone down, They lie with the uncircumcised, slain by the sword.’
22“Assyria is there, and all her company, With their graves all around her, All of them slain, fallen by the sword.
23 Her graves are set in the recesses of the Pit, And her company is all around her grave, All of them slain, fallen by the sword, Who caused terror in the land of the living.
24“There is Elam and all her multitude, All around her grave, All of them slain, fallen by the sword, Who have gone down uncircumcised to the lower parts of the earth, Who caused their terror in the land of the living; Now they bear their shame with those who go down to the Pit.
