Genesis 40:10-14
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 40
10
and on the vine
were
three branches. And as it was budding, its blossoms came out,
and
its clusters produced ripe grapes.
11
Now Pharaoh’s cup was in my hand; so I took the grapes and squeezed them into Pharaoh’s cup, and I put the cup into Pharaoh’s hand.'
12
Then Joseph said to him, 'This is the interpretation of it: the three branches are three days;
13
within three more days Pharaoh will lift up your head and restore you to your office; and you will put Pharaoh’s cup into his hand as in your former practice when you were his cupbearer.
14
Only keep me in mind when it goes well for you, and please do me a kindness by mentioning me to Pharaoh, and get me out of this prison.
King James Version
Chapter 40
10
And in the vine were three branches: and it was as though it budded, and her blossoms shot forth; and the clusters thereof brought forth ripe grapes:
11
And Pharaoh's cup was in my hand: and I took the grapes, and pressed them into Pharaoh's cup, and I gave the cup into Pharaoh's hand.
12
And Joseph said unto him, This is the interpretation of it: The three branches are three days:
13
Yet within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thine head, and restore thee unto thy place: and thou shalt deliver Pharaoh's cup into his hand, after the former manner when thou wast his butler.
14
But think on me when it shall be well with thee, and shew kindness, I pray thee, unto me, and make mention of me unto Pharaoh, and bring me out of this house:
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 40
10
On the vine were three branches. As soon as it budded, its blossoms came out and its clusters ripened into grapes.
11
Pharaoh’s cup was in my hand, and I took the grapes, squeezed them into Pharaoh’s cup, and placed the cup in Pharaoh’s hand."
12
"This is its interpretation," Joseph said to him. "The three branches are three days.
13
In just three days Pharaoh will lift up your head and restore you to your position. You will put Pharaoh’s cup in his hand the way you used to when you were his cupbearer.
14
But when all goes well for you, remember that I was with you. Please show kindness to me by mentioning me to Pharaoh, and get me out of this prison.
New Living Translation
Chapter 40
10
The vine had three branches that began to bud and blossom, and soon it produced clusters of ripe grapes.
11
I was holding Pharaoh’s wine cup in my hand, so I took a cluster of grapes and squeezed the juice into the cup. Then I placed the cup in Pharaoh’s hand.'
12
This is what the dream means,' Joseph said. 'The three branches represent three days.
13
Within three days Pharaoh will lift you up and restore you to your position as his chief cup-bearer.
14
And please remember me and do me a favor when things go well for you. Mention me to Pharaoh, so he might let me out of this place.
English Standard Version

12
Then Joseph said to him, "This is its interpretation: the three branches are three days.
13
In three days Pharaoh will lift up your head and restore you to your office, and you shall place Pharaoh 's cup in his hand as formerly, when you were his cupbearer.
14
Only remember me, when it is well with you, and please do me the kindness to mention me to Pharaoh, and so get me out of this house.
