Genesis 41:33-40
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 41
33So now let Pharaoh look for a man discerning and wise, and appoint him over the land of Egypt. 34Let Pharaoh take action to appoint overseers in charge of the land, and let him take a fifth of the produce of the land of Egypt as a tax in the seven years of abundance. 35Then have them collect all the food of these good years that are coming, and store up the grain for food in the cities under Pharaoh’s authority, and have them guard it. 36Let the food be used as a reserve for the land for the seven years of famine which will occur in the land of Egypt, so that the land will not perish during the famine.'
38Then Pharaoh said to his servants, 'Can we find a man like this, in whom there is a divine spirit?'
39So Pharaoh said to Joseph, 'Since God has informed you of all this, there is no one as discerning and wise as you are.
40You shall be in charge of my house, and all my people shall be obedient to you; only regarding the throne will I be greater than you.'
King James Version
Chapter 41
33Now therefore let Pharaoh look out a man discreet and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt. 34Let Pharaoh do this, and let him appoint officers over the land, and take up the fifth part of the land of Egypt in the seven plenteous years. 35And let them gather all the food of those good years that come, and lay up corn under the hand of Pharaoh, and let them keep food in the cities. 36And that food shall be for store to the land against the seven years of famine, which shall be in the land of Egypt; that the land perish not through the famine.
37And the thing was good in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of all his servants.
38And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is?
39And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art:
40Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou.

Chapter 41
33"So now, let Pharaoh look for a discerning and wise man and set him over the land of Egypt. 34Let Pharaoh do this: Let him appoint overseers over the land and take a fifth of the harvest of the land of Egypt during the seven years of abundance. 35Let them gather all the excess food during these good years that are coming. Under Pharaoh’s authority, store the grain in the cities, so they may preserve it as food. 36The food will be a reserve for the land during the seven years of famine that will take place in the land of Egypt. Then the country will not be wiped out by the famine."
37The proposal pleased Pharaoh and all his servants,
38and he said to them, "Can we find anyone like this, a man who has God’s spirit in him?"
39So Pharaoh said to Joseph, "Since God has made all this known to you, there is no one as discerning and wise as you are.
40You will be over my house, and all my people will obey your commands. Only I, as king, will be greater than you."
New Living Translation
Chapter 41
33Therefore, Pharaoh should find an intelligent and wise man and put him in charge of the entire land of Egypt. 34Then Pharaoh should appoint supervisors over the land and let them collect one-fifth of all the crops during the seven good years. 35Have them gather all the food produced in the good years that are just ahead and bring it to Pharaoh’s storehouses. Store it away, and guard it so there will be food in the cities. 36That way there will be enough to eat when the seven years of famine come to the land of Egypt. Otherwise this famine will destroy the land.'
37Joseph’s suggestions were well received by Pharaoh and his officials.
38So Pharaoh asked his officials, 'Can we find anyone else like this man so obviously filled with the spirit of God?'
39Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, 'Since God has revealed the meaning of the dreams to you, clearly no one else is as intelligent or wise as you are.
40You will be in charge of my court, and all my people will take orders from you. Only I, sitting on my throne, will have a rank higher than yours.'

Chapter 41
33Now therefore let Pharaoh select a discerning and wise man, and set him over the land of Egypt. 34Let Pharaoh proceed to appoint overseers over the land and take one-fifth of the produce of the land of Egypt during the seven plentiful years. 35And let them gather all the food of these good years that are coming and store up grain under the authority of Pharaoh for food in the cities, and let them keep it. 36That food shall be a reserve for the land against the seven years of famine that are to occur in the land of Egypt, so that the land may not perish through the famine."
37This proposal pleased Pharaoh and all his servants.
38And Pharaoh said to his servants, "Can we find a man like this, in whom is the Spirit of God?"
39Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, "Since God has shown you all this, there is none so discerning and wise as you are.
40You shall be over my house, and all my people shall order themselves as you command. Only as regards the throne will I be greater than you."
