Genesis 45:7-26
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 45
7So God sent me ahead of you to ensure for you a remnant on the earth, and to keep you alive by a great deliverance. 8Now, therefore, it was not you who sent me here, but God; and He has made me a father to Pharaoh and lord of all his household, and ruler over all the land of Egypt. 9Hurry and go up to my father, and say to him, ‘This is what your son Joseph says: 'God has made me lord of all Egypt; come down to me, do not delay. 10For you shall live in the land of Goshen, and you shall be near me, you and your children and your grandchildren, and your flocks and your herds and all that you have. 11There I will also provide for you, for there are still five years of famine to come, and you and your household and all that you have would be impoverished.'?’ 12Behold, your eyes see, and the eyes of my brother Benjamin see, that it is my mouth which is speaking to you. 13Now you must tell my father of all my splendor in Egypt, and all that you have seen; and you must hurry and bring my father down here.' 14Then he fell on his brother Benjamin’s neck and wept, and Benjamin wept on his neck. 15And he kissed all his brothers and wept on them, and afterward his brothers talked with him.
16Now when the news was heard in Pharaoh’s house that Joseph’s brothers had come, it pleased Pharaoh and his servants.
17Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, 'Say to your brothers, ‘Do this: load your livestock and go to the land of Canaan,
18and take your father and your households and come to me; and I will give you the best of the land of Egypt, and you will eat the fat of the land.’
19Now you are ordered, ‘Do this: take wagons from the land of Egypt for your little ones and for your wives, and bring your father and come.
20And do not concern yourselves with your property, for the best of all the land of Egypt is yours.’?'
21Then the sons of Israel did so; and Joseph gave them wagons according to the command of Pharaoh, and gave them provisions for the journey.
22To each of them he gave changes of garments, but to Benjamin he gave three hundred pieces of silver and five changes of garments.
23And to his father he sent the following: ten male donkeys loaded with the best things of Egypt, ten female donkeys loaded with grain, bread, and sustenance for his father on the journey.
24So he sent his brothers away, and as they departed, he said to them, 'Do not quarrel on the journey.'
25Then they went up from Egypt, and came to the land of Canaan, to their father Jacob.
26And they told him, saying, 'Joseph is still alive, and indeed he is ruler over all the land of Egypt.' But he was stunned, for he did not believe them.

Chapter 45
7And God sent me before you to preserve you a posterity in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance. 8So now it was not you that sent me hither, but God: and he hath made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt. 9Haste ye, and go up to my father, and say unto him, Thus saith thy son Joseph, God hath made me lord of all Egypt: come down unto me, tarry not: 10And thou shalt dwell in the land of Goshen, and thou shalt be near unto me, thou, and thy children, and thy children's children, and thy flocks, and thy herds, and all that thou hast: 11And there will I nourish thee; for yet there are five years of famine; lest thou, and thy household, and all that thou hast, come to poverty. 12And, behold, your eyes see, and the eyes of my brother Benjamin, that it is my mouth that speaketh unto you. 13And ye shall tell my father of all my glory in Egypt, and of all that ye have seen; and ye shall haste and bring down my father hither.
14And he fell upon his brother Benjamin's neck, and wept; and Benjamin wept upon his neck.
15Moreover he kissed all his brethren, and wept upon them: and after that his brethren talked with him.
16And the fame thereof was heard in Pharaoh's house, saying, Joseph's brethren are come: and it pleased Pharaoh well, and his servants.
17And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Say unto thy brethren, This do ye; lade your beasts, and go, get you unto the land of Canaan;
18And take your father and your households, and come unto me: and I will give you the good of the land of Egypt, and ye shall eat the fat of the land.
19Now thou art commanded, this do ye; take you wagons out of the land of Egypt for your little ones, and for your wives, and bring your father, and come.
20Also regard not your stuff; for the good of all the land of Egypt is yours.
21And the children of Israel did so: and Joseph gave them wagons, according to the commandment of Pharaoh, and gave them provision for the way.
22To all of them he gave each man changes of raiment; but to Benjamin he gave three hundred pieces of silver, and five changes of raiment.
23And to his father he sent after this manner; ten asses laden with the good things of Egypt, and ten she asses laden with corn and bread and meat for his father by the way.
24So he sent his brethren away, and they departed: and he said unto them, See that ye fall not out by the way.

Chapter 45
7God sent me ahead of you to establish you as a remnant within the land and to keep you alive by a great deliverance. 8Therefore it was not you who sent me here, but God. He has made me a father to Pharaoh, lord of his entire household, and ruler over all the land of Egypt.
9"Return quickly to my father and say to him, ‘This is what your son Joseph says: "God has made me lord of all Egypt. Come down to me without delay.
10You can settle in the land of Goshen and be near me—you, your children, and your grandchildren, your flocks, your herds, and all you have.
11There I will sustain you, for there will be five more years of famine. Otherwise, you, your household, and everything you have will become destitute."’
12Look! Your eyes and the eyes of my brother Benjamin can see that I’m the one speaking to you.
13Tell my father about all my glory in Egypt and about all you have seen. And bring my father here quickly."
14Then Joseph threw his arms around his brother Benjamin and wept, and Benjamin wept on his shoulder.
15Joseph kissed each of his brothers as he wept, and afterward his brothers talked with him.
16When the news reached Pharaoh’s palace, "Joseph’s brothers have come," Pharaoh and his servants were pleased.
17Pharaoh said to Joseph, "Tell your brothers, ‘Do this: Load your animals and go on back to the land of Canaan.
18Get your father and your families, and come back to me. I will give you the best of the land of Egypt, and you can eat from the richness of the land.’
19You are also commanded to tell them, ‘Do this: Take wagons from the land of Egypt for your dependents and your wives and bring your father here.
20Do not be concerned about your belongings, for the best of all the land of Egypt is yours.’"
21The sons of Israel did this. Joseph gave them wagons as Pharaoh had commanded, and he gave them provisions for the journey.
22He gave each of the brothers changes of clothes, but he gave Benjamin three hundred pieces of silver and five changes of clothes.
23He sent his father the following: ten donkeys carrying the best products of Egypt and ten female donkeys carrying grain, food, and provisions for his father on the journey.
24So Joseph sent his brothers on their way, and as they were leaving, he said to them, "Don’t argue on the way."

Chapter 45
7God has sent me ahead of you to keep you and your families alive and to preserve many survivors. 8So it was God who sent me here, not you! And he is the one who made me an adviser to Pharaoh — the manager of his entire palace and the governor of all Egypt.
9Now hurry back to my father and tell him, ‘This is what your son Joseph says: God has made me master over all the land of Egypt. So come down to me immediately!
10You can live in the region of Goshen, where you can be near me with all your children and grandchildren, your flocks and herds, and everything you own.
11I will take care of you there, for there are still five years of famine ahead of us. Otherwise you, your household, and all your animals will starve.’'
12Then Joseph added, 'Look! You can see for yourselves, and so can my brother Benjamin, that I really am Joseph!
13Go tell my father of my honored position here in Egypt. Describe for him everything you have seen, and then bring my father here quickly.'
14Weeping with joy, he embraced Benjamin, and Benjamin did the same.
15Then Joseph kissed each of his brothers and wept over them, and after that they began talking freely with him.
17Pharaoh said to Joseph, 'Tell your brothers, ‘This is what you must do: Load your pack animals, and hurry back to the land of Canaan.
18Then get your father and all of your families, and return here to me. I will give you the very best land in Egypt, and you will eat from the best that the land produces.’'
19Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, 'Tell your brothers, ‘Take wagons from the land of Egypt to carry your little children and your wives, and bring your father here.
20Don’t worry about your personal belongings, for the best of all the land of Egypt is yours.’'
21So the sons of Jacob did as they were told. Joseph provided them with wagons, as Pharaoh had commanded, and he gave them supplies for the journey.
22And he gave each of them new clothes — but to Benjamin he gave five changes of clothes and 300 pieces of silver.
23He also sent his father ten male donkeys loaded with the finest products of Egypt, and ten female donkeys loaded with grain and bread and other supplies he would need on his journey.
