Chapter 50

2Joseph commanded his servants the physicians to embalm his father. So the physicians embalmed Israel. 3Now forty days were required for it, for such is the period required for embalming. And the Egyptians wept for him seventy days.

2And Joseph commanded his servants the physicians to embalm his father: and the physicians embalmed Israel. 3And forty days were fulfilled for him; for so are fulfilled the days of those which are embalmed: and the Egyptians mourned for him threescore and ten days.

2He commanded his servants who were physicians to embalm his father. So they embalmed Israel. 3They took forty days to complete this, for embalming takes that long, and the Egyptians mourned for him seventy days.
