Habakkuk 3:4-15
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 3
4 His radiance is like the sunlight; He has rays flashing from His hand, And the hiding of His might is there. 5Before Him goes plague, And plague comes forth after Him. 6He stood and caused the earth to shudder; He looked and caused the nations to jump. Yes, the everlasting mountains were shattered, The ancient hills collapsed. His paths are everlasting. 7I saw the tents of Cushan under distress, The tent curtains of the land of Midian were trembling. 8Did the Lord rage against the rivers, Or was Your anger against the rivers, Or was Your rage against the sea, That You rode on Your horses, On Your chariots of salvation? 9You removed Your bow from its holder, The arrows of Your word were sworn. Selah You divided the earth with rivers. 10The mountains saw You and quaked; The downpour of waters swept by. The deep raised its voice, It lifted high its hands. 11Sun and moon stood in their lofty places; They went away at the light of Your arrows, At the radiance of Your flashing spear. 12In indignation You marched through the earth; In anger You trampled the nations. 13You went forth for the salvation of Your people, For the salvation of Your anointed. You smashed the head of the house of evil To uncover him from foot to neck. Selah 14You pierced with his own arrows The head of his leaders. They stormed in to scatter us; Their arrogance was like those Who devour the oppressed in secret. 15You trampled on the sea with Your horses, On the foam of many waters.King James Version

Chapter 3
4His brilliance is like light; rays are flashing from his hand. This is where his power is hidden. 5Plague goes before him, and pestilence follows in his steps. 6He stands and shakes the earth; he looks and startles the nations. The age-old mountains break apart; the ancient hills sink down. His pathways are ancient. 7I see the tents of Cushan in distress; the tent curtains of the land of Midian tremble. 8Are you angry at the rivers, Lord? Is your wrath against the rivers? Or is your rage against the sea when you ride on your horses, your victorious chariot?
9You took the sheath from your bow; the arrows are ready to be used with an oath. Selah You split the earth with rivers.
10The mountains see you and shudder; a downpour of water sweeps by. The deep roars with its voice and lifts its waves high.
11Sun and moon stand still in their lofty residence, at the flash of your flying arrows, at the brightness of your shining spear.
12You march across the earth with indignation; you trample down the nations in wrath.
13You come out to save your people, to save your anointed. You crush the leader of the house of the wicked and strip him from foot to neck. Selah
14You pierce his head with his own spears; his warriors storm out to scatter us, gloating as if ready to secretly devour the weak.
15You tread the sea with your horses, stirring up the vast water.
New Living Translation
Chapter 3
4His coming is as brilliant as the sunrise. Rays of light flash from his hands, where his awesome power is hidden. 5Pestilence marches before him; plague follows close behind. 6When he stops, the earth shakes. When he looks, the nations tremble. He shatters the everlasting mountains and levels the eternal hills. He is the Eternal One! 7I see the people of Cushan in distress, and the nation of Midian trembling in terror.
8Was it in anger, Lord, that you struck the rivers and parted the sea? Were you displeased with them? No, you were sending your chariots of salvation!
9You brandished your bow and your quiver of arrows. You split open the earth with flowing rivers.
10The mountains watched and trembled. Onward swept the raging waters. The mighty deep cried out, lifting its hands in submission.
11The sun and moon stood still in the sky as your brilliant arrows flew and your glittering spear flashed.
12You marched across the land in anger and trampled the nations in your fury.
13You went out to rescue your chosen people, to save your anointed ones. You crushed the heads of the wicked and stripped their bones from head to toe.
14With his own weapons, you destroyed the chief of those who rushed out like a whirlwind, thinking Israel would be easy prey.
15You trampled the sea with your horses, and the mighty waters piled high.

Chapter 3
4 His brightness was like the light; rays flashed from his hand; and there he veiled his power. 5 Before him went pestilence, and plague followed at his heels. 6He stood and measured the earth; he looked and shook the nations; then the eternal mountains were scattered; the everlasting hills sank low. His were the everlasting ways. 7I saw the tents of Cushan in affliction; the curtains of the land of Midian did tremble. 8 Was your wrath against the rivers, O Lord? Was your anger against the rivers, or your indignation against the sea, when you rode on your horses, on your chariot of salvation? 9You stripped the sheath from your bow, calling for many arrows. Selah You split the earth with rivers. 10 The mountains saw you and writhed; the raging waters swept on; the deep gave forth its voice; it lifted its hands on high. 11 The sun and moon stood still in their place at the light of your arrows as they sped, at the flash of your glittering spear. 12 You marched through the earth in fury; you threshed the nations in anger. 13 You went out for the salvation of your people, for the salvation of your anointed. You crushed the head of the house of the wicked, laying him bare from thigh to neck. Selah 14You pierced with his own arrows the heads of his warriors, who came like a whirlwind to scatter me, rejoicing as if to devour the poor in secret. 15 You trampled the sea with your horses, the surging of mighty waters.New International Version

4His splendor was like the sunrise; rays flashed from his hand, where his power was hidden. 5Plague went before him; pestilence followed his steps. 6He stood, and shook the earth; he looked, and made the nations tremble. The ancient mountains crumbled and the age-old hills collapsed— but he marches on forever.
7I saw the tents of Cushan in distress, the dwellings of Midian in anguish.
8Were you angry with the rivers, Lord? Was your wrath against the streams? Did you rage against the sea when you rode your horses and your chariots to victory?
9You uncovered your bow, you called for many arrows. You split the earth with rivers;
10the mountains saw you and writhed. Torrents of water swept by; the deep roared and lifted its waves on high.
11Sun and moon stood still in the heavens at the glint of your flying arrows, at the lightning of your flashing spear.
12In wrath you strode through the earth and in anger you threshed the nations.
13You came out to deliver your people, to save your anointed one. You crushed the leader of the land of wickedness, you stripped him from head to foot.
14With his own spear you pierced his head when his warriors stormed out to scatter us, gloating as though about to devour the wretched who were in hiding.

4 His brightness was like the light; He had rays flashing from His hand, And there His power was hidden. 5Before Him went pestilence, And fever followed at His feet. 6He stood and measured the earth; He looked and startled the nations. And the everlasting mountains were scattered, The perpetual hills bowed. His ways are everlasting. 7I saw the tents of Cushan in affliction; The curtains of the land of Midian trembled. 8O Lord, were You displeased with the rivers, Was Your anger against the rivers, Was Your wrath against the sea, That You rode on Your horses, Your chariots of salvation?
9Your bow was made quite ready; Oaths were sworn over Your arrows. Selah You divided the earth with rivers.
10The mountains saw You and trembled; The overflowing of the water passed by. The deep uttered its voice, And lifted its hands on high.
11The sun and moon stood still in their habitation; At the light of Your arrows they went, At the shining of Your glittering spear.
12You marched through the land in indignation; You trampled the nations in anger.
