Isaiah 2:7-22
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 2
7Their land has also been filled with silver and gold And there is no end to their treasures; Their land has also been filled with horses, And there is no end to their chariots. 8Their land has also been filled with idols; They worship the work of their hands, That which their fingers have made. 9So the common person has been humbled And the person of importance has been brought low, But do not forgive them. 10Enter the rocky place and hide in the dust From the terror of the Lord and from the splendor of His majesty. 11The proud look of humanity will be brought low, And the arrogance of people will be humbled; And the Lord alone will be exalted on that day. 12For the Lord of armies will have a day of reckoning Against everyone who is arrogant and haughty, And against everyone who is lifted up, That he may be brought low. 13And it will be against all the cedars of Lebanon that are lofty and lifted up, Against all the oaks of Bashan, 14Against all the lofty mountains, Against all the hills that are lifted up, 15Against every high tower, Against every fortified wall, 16Against all the ships of Tarshish And against all the delightful ships. 17And the pride of humanity will be humbled And the arrogance of people will be brought low; And the Lord alone will be exalted on that day, 18And the idols will completely vanish. 19 People will go into caves of the rocks And into holes in the ground Away from the terror of the Lord And the splendor of His majesty, When He arises to terrify the earth. 20On that day people will throw away to the moles and the bats Their idols of silver and their idols of gold, Which they made for themselves to worship, 21In order to go into the clefts of the rocks and the crannies of the cliffs Before the terror of the Lord and the splendor of His majesty, When He arises to terrify the earth. 22 Take no account of man, whose breath of life is in his nostrils; For why should he be esteemed?King James Version

Chapter 2
7Their land is full of silver and gold, and there is no limit to their treasures; their land is full of horses, and there is no limit to their chariots. 8Their land is full of idols; they worship the work of their hands, what their fingers have made. 9So humanity is brought low, and each person is humbled. Do not forgive them! 10Go into the rocks and hide in the dust from the terror of the Lord and from his majestic splendor.
11The pride of mankind will be humbled, and human loftiness will be brought low; the Lord alone will be exalted on that day.
12For a day belonging to the Lord of Armies is coming against all that is proud and lofty, against all that is lifted up—it will be humbled—
13against all the cedars of Lebanon, lofty and lifted up, against all the oaks of Bashan,
14against all the high mountains, against all the lofty hills,
15against every high tower, against every fortified wall,
16against every ship of Tarshish, and against every splendid sea vessel.
17The pride of mankind will be brought low, and human loftiness will be humbled; the Lord alone will be exalted on that day.
18The idols will vanish completely.
19People will go into caves in the rocks and holes in the ground, away from the terror of the Lord and from his majestic splendor, when he rises to terrify the earth.
20On that day people will throw their silver and gold idols, which they made to worship, to the moles and the bats.
21They will go into the caves of the rocks and the crevices in the cliffs, away from the terror of the Lord and from his majestic splendor, when he rises to terrify the earth.
22Put no more trust in a mere human, who has only the breath in his nostrils. What is he really worth?
New Living Translation
Chapter 2
7Israel is full of silver and gold; there is no end to its treasures. Their land is full of warhorses; there is no end to its chariots. 8Their land is full of idols; the people worship things they have made with their own hands. 9So now they will be humbled, and all will be brought low — do not forgive them. 10Crawl into caves in the rocks. Hide in the dust from the terror of the Lord and the glory of his majesty. 11Human pride will be brought down, and human arrogance will be humbled. Only the Lord will be exalted on that day of judgment.
12For the Lord of Heaven’s Armies has a day of reckoning. He will punish the proud and mighty and bring down everything that is exalted.
13He will cut down the tall cedars of Lebanon and all the mighty oaks of Bashan.
14He will level all the high mountains and all the lofty hills.
15He will break down every high tower and every fortified wall.
16He will destroy all the great trading ships and every magnificent vessel.
17Human pride will be humbled, and human arrogance will be brought down. Only the Lord will be exalted on that day of judgment.
18Idols will completely disappear.
19When the Lord rises to shake the earth, his enemies will crawl into holes in the ground. They will hide in caves in the rocks from the terror of the Lord and the glory of his majesty.
20On that day of judgment they will abandon the gold and silver idols they made for themselves to worship. They will leave their gods to the rodents and bats,
21while they crawl away into caverns and hide among the jagged rocks in the cliffs. They will try to escape the terror of the Lord and the glory of his majesty as he rises to shake the earth.
22Don’t put your trust in mere humans. They are as frail as breath. What good are they?

Chapter 2
7Their land is filled with silver and gold, and there is no end to their treasures; their land is filled with horses, and there is no end to their chariots. 8Their land is filled with idols; they bow down to the work of their hands, to what their own fingers have made. 9So man is humbled, and each one is brought low — do not forgive them! 10 Enter into the rock and hide in the dust from before the terror of the Lord, and from the splendor of his majesty. 11 The haughty looks of man shall be brought low, and the lofty pride of men shall be humbled, and the Lord alone will be exalted in that day. 12 For the Lord of hosts has a day against all that is proud and lofty, against all that is lifted up — and it shall be brought low; 13against all the cedars of Lebanon, lofty and lifted up; and against all the oaks of Bashan; 14against all the lofty mountains, and against all the uplifted hills; 15against every high tower, and against every fortified wall; 16against all the ships of Tarshish, and against all the beautiful craft. 17 And the haughtiness of man shall be humbled, and the lofty pride of men shall be brought low, and the Lord alone will be exalted in that day. 18 And the idols shall utterly pass away. 19 And people shall enter the caves of the rocks and the holes of the ground, from before the terror of the Lord, and from the splendor of his majesty, when he rises to terrify the earth. 20In that day mankind will cast away their idols of silver and their idols of gold, which they made for themselves to worship, to the moles and to the bats, 21 to enter the caverns of the rocks and the clefts of the cliffs, from before the terror of the Lord, and from the splendor of his majesty, when he rises to terrify the earth. 22 Stop regarding man in whose nostrils is breath, for of what account is he?New International Version

17The arrogance of man will be brought low and human pride humbled; the Lord alone will be exalted in that day,
