Isaiah 23:3-11
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 23
3And were on many waters. The grain of the Nile, the harvest of the River was her revenue; And she was the market of nations. 4Be ashamed, Sidon, For the sea speaks, the stronghold of the sea, saying, 'I have neither been in labor nor given birth, I have neither brought up young men nor raised virgins.' 5When the report reaches Egypt, They will be in anguish over the report of Tyre. 6Pass over to Tarshish; Wail, you inhabitants of the coastland. 7Is this your jubilant city, Whose origin is from antiquity, Whose feet used to bring her to colonize distant places? 8Who has planned this against Tyre, the bestower of crowns, Whose merchants were princes, whose traders were the honored of the earth? 9The Lord of armies has planned it, to defile the pride of all beauty, To despise all the honored of the earth. 10 Overflow your land like the Nile, you daughter of Tarshish, There is no more restraint. 11He has stretched His hand out over the sea, He has made the kingdoms tremble; The Lord has given a command concerning Canaan to demolish its strongholds.King James Version

Chapter 23
3over deep water. Tyre’s revenue was the grain from Shihor— the harvest of the Nile. She was the merchant among the nations. 4Be ashamed, Sidon, the stronghold of the sea, for the sea has spoken: "I have not been in labor or given birth. I have not raised young men or brought up young women." 5When the news reaches Egypt, they will be in anguish over the news about Tyre. 6Cross over to Tarshish; wail, inhabitants of the coastland! 7Is this your jubilant city, whose origin was in ancient times, whose feet have taken her to reside far away? 8Who planned this against Tyre, the bestower of crowns, whose traders are princes, whose merchants are the honored ones of the earth? 9The Lord of Armies planned it, to desecrate all its glorious beauty, to disgrace all the honored ones of the earth. 10Overflow your land like the Nile, daughter of Tarshish; there is no longer anything to restrain you. 11He stretched out his hand over the sea; he made kingdoms tremble. The Lord has commanded that the Canaanite fortresses be destroyed.New Living Translation
4But now you are put to shame, city of Sidon, for Tyre, the fortress of the sea, says, 'Now I am childless; I have no sons or daughters.'
5When Egypt hears the news about Tyre, there will be great sorrow.
6Send word now to Tarshish! Wail, you people who live in distant lands!
7Is this silent ruin all that is left of your once joyous city? What a long history was yours! Think of all the colonists you sent to distant places.
8Who has brought this disaster on Tyre, that great creator of kingdoms? Her traders were all princes, her merchants were nobles.
9The Lord of Heaven’s Armies has done it to destroy your pride and bring low all earth’s nobility.
10Come, people of Tarshish, sweep over the land like the flooding Nile, for Tyre is defenseless.
11The Lord held out his hand over the sea and shook the kingdoms of the earth. He has spoken out against Phoenicia, ordering that her fortresses be destroyed.

Chapter 23
3And on many waters your revenue was the grain of Shihor, the harvest of the Nile; you were the merchant of the nations. 4Be ashamed, O Sidon, for the sea has spoken, the stronghold of the sea, saying: "I have neither labored nor given birth, I have neither reared young men nor brought up young women." 5When the report comes to Egypt, they will be in anguish over the report about Tyre. 6 Cross over to Tarshish; wail, O inhabitants of the coast! 7Is this your exultant city whose origin is from days of old, whose feet carried her to settle far away? 8Who has purposed this against Tyre, the bestower of crowns, whose merchants were princes, whose traders were the honored of the earth? 9The Lord of hosts has purposed it, to defile the pompous pride of all glory, to dishonor all the honored of the earth. 10Cross over your land like the Nile, O daughter of Tarshish; there is no restraint anymore. 11 He has stretched out his hand over the sea; he has shaken the kingdoms; the Lord has given command concerning Canaan to destroy its strongholds.New International Version
Chapter 23
3On the great waters came the grain of the Shihor; the harvest of the Nile was the revenue of Tyre, and she became the marketplace of the nations. 4Be ashamed, Sidon, and you fortress of the sea, for the sea has spoken: "I have neither been in labor nor given birth; I have neither reared sons nor brought up daughters."
5When word comes to Egypt, they will be in anguish at the report from Tyre.
6Cross over to Tarshish; wail, you people of the island.
7Is this your city of revelry, the old, old city, whose feet have taken her to settle in far-off lands?
8Who planned this against Tyre, the bestower of crowns, whose merchants are princes, whose traders are renowned in the earth?
9The Lord Almighty planned it, to bring down her pride in all her splendor and to humble all who are renowned on the earth.
10Till your land as they do along the Nile, Daughter Tarshish, for you no longer have a harbor.
11The Lord has stretched out his hand over the sea and made its kingdoms tremble. He has given an order concerning Phoenicia that her fortresses be destroyed.
