Isaiah 23:6-13
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 23
6Pass over to Tarshish; Wail, you inhabitants of the coastland. 7Is this your jubilant city, Whose origin is from antiquity, Whose feet used to bring her to colonize distant places? 8Who has planned this against Tyre, the bestower of crowns, Whose merchants were princes, whose traders were the honored of the earth? 9The Lord of armies has planned it, to defile the pride of all beauty, To despise all the honored of the earth. 10 Overflow your land like the Nile, you daughter of Tarshish, There is no more restraint. 11He has stretched His hand out over the sea, He has made the kingdoms tremble; The Lord has given a command concerning Canaan to demolish its strongholds. 12He has said, 'You shall not be jubilant anymore, you crushed virgin daughter of Sidon. Arise, pass over to Cyprus; even there you will find no rest.'King James Version

Chapter 23
6Cross over to Tarshish; wail, inhabitants of the coastland! 7Is this your jubilant city, whose origin was in ancient times, whose feet have taken her to reside far away? 8Who planned this against Tyre, the bestower of crowns, whose traders are princes, whose merchants are the honored ones of the earth? 9The Lord of Armies planned it, to desecrate all its glorious beauty, to disgrace all the honored ones of the earth. 10Overflow your land like the Nile, daughter of Tarshish; there is no longer anything to restrain you. 11He stretched out his hand over the sea; he made kingdoms tremble. The Lord has commanded that the Canaanite fortresses be destroyed. 12He said, "You will not celebrate anymore, ravished young woman, daughter of Sidon. Get up and cross over to Cyprus — even there you will have no rest!" 13Look at the land of the Chaldeans— a people who no longer exist. Assyria destined it for desert creatures. They set up their siege towers and stripped its palaces. They made it a ruin.New Living Translation
Chapter 23
6Send word now to Tarshish! Wail, you people who live in distant lands! 7Is this silent ruin all that is left of your once joyous city? What a long history was yours! Think of all the colonists you sent to distant places.
8Who has brought this disaster on Tyre, that great creator of kingdoms? Her traders were all princes, her merchants were nobles.
9The Lord of Heaven’s Armies has done it to destroy your pride and bring low all earth’s nobility.
10Come, people of Tarshish, sweep over the land like the flooding Nile, for Tyre is defenseless.
11The Lord held out his hand over the sea and shook the kingdoms of the earth. He has spoken out against Phoenicia, ordering that her fortresses be destroyed.
12He says, 'Never again will you rejoice, O daughter of Sidon, for you have been crushed. Even if you flee to Cyprus, you will find no rest.'

Chapter 23
6 Cross over to Tarshish; wail, O inhabitants of the coast! 7Is this your exultant city whose origin is from days of old, whose feet carried her to settle far away? 8Who has purposed this against Tyre, the bestower of crowns, whose merchants were princes, whose traders were the honored of the earth? 9The Lord of hosts has purposed it, to defile the pompous pride of all glory, to dishonor all the honored of the earth. 10Cross over your land like the Nile, O daughter of Tarshish; there is no restraint anymore. 11 He has stretched out his hand over the sea; he has shaken the kingdoms; the Lord has given command concerning Canaan to destroy its strongholds. 12And he said: "You will no more exult, O oppressed virgin daughter of Sidon; arise, cross over to Cyprus, even there you will have no rest." 13Behold the land of the Chaldeans! This is the people that was not; Assyria destined it for wild beasts. They erected their siege towers, they stripped her palaces bare, they made her a ruin.New International Version
Chapter 23
6Cross over to Tarshish; wail, you people of the island. 7Is this your city of revelry, the old, old city, whose feet have taken her to settle in far-off lands? 8Who planned this against Tyre, the bestower of crowns, whose merchants are princes, whose traders are renowned in the earth?
9The Lord Almighty planned it, to bring down her pride in all her splendor and to humble all who are renowned on the earth.
10Till your land as they do along the Nile, Daughter Tarshish, for you no longer have a harbor.
11The Lord has stretched out his hand over the sea and made its kingdoms tremble. He has given an order concerning Phoenicia that her fortresses be destroyed.
