Isaiah 3:4-14

Chapter 3
4And I will make mere boys their leaders, And mischievous children will rule over them, 5And the people will be oppressed, Each one by another, and each one by his neighbor; The youth will assault the elder, And the contemptible person will assault the one honored. 6When a man lays hold of his brother in his father’s house, saying, 'You have a cloak, you shall be our ruler! And these ruins will be under your authority,' 7He will protest on that day, saying, 'I will not be your healer, For in my house there is neither bread nor cloak; You should not appoint me ruler of the people.' 8For Jerusalem has stumbled and Judah has fallen, Because their speech and their actions are against the Lord, To rebel against His glorious presence. 9 The expression of their faces testifies against them, And they display their sin like Sodom; They do not even conceal it. Woe to them! For they have done evil to themselves. 10Say to the righteous that it will go well for them, For they will eat the fruit of their actions. 11Woe to the wicked! It will go badly for him, For what he deserves will be done to him. 12My people! Their oppressors treat them violently, And women rule over them. My people! Those who guide you lead you astray And confuse the direction of your paths. 13The Lord arises to contend, And stands to judge the people. 14The Lord enters into judgment with the elders and leaders of His people, 'It is you who have devoured the vineyard; The goods stolen from the poor are in your houses.King James Version

4"I will make youths their leaders, and unstable rulers will govern them." 5The people will oppress one another, man against man, neighbor against neighbor; the young will act arrogantly toward the old, and the worthless toward the honorable. 6A man will even seize his brother in his father’s house, saying: "You have a cloak—you be our leader! This heap of rubble will be under your control." 7On that day he will cry out, saying: "I’m not a healer. I don’t even have food or clothing in my house. Don’t make me the leader of the people!" 8For Jerusalem has stumbled and Judah has fallen because they have spoken and acted against the Lord, defying his glorious presence. 9The look on their faces testifies against them, and like Sodom, they flaunt their sin; they do not conceal it. Woe to them, for they have brought disaster on themselves. 10Tell the righteous that it will go well for them, for they will eat the fruit of their labor. 11Woe to the wicked—it will go badly for them, for what they have done will be done to them.
12Youths oppress my people, and women rule over them. My people, your leaders mislead you; they confuse the direction of your paths.
13The Lord rises to argue the case and stands to judge the people.
14The Lord brings this charge against the elders and leaders of his people: "You have devastated the vineyard. The plunder from the poor is in your houses.

4I will make boys their leaders, and toddlers their rulers. 5People will oppress each other — man against man, neighbor against neighbor. Young people will insult their elders, and vulgar people will sneer at the honorable.
6In those days a man will say to his brother, 'Since you have a coat, you be our leader! Take charge of this heap of ruins!'
7But he will reply, 'No! I can’t help. I don’t have any extra food or clothes. Don’t put me in charge!'
8For Jerusalem will stumble, and Judah will fall, because they speak out against the Lord and refuse to obey him. They provoke him to his face.
9The very look on their faces gives them away. They display their sin like the people of Sodom and don’t even try to hide it. They are doomed! They have brought destruction upon themselves.

4 And I will make boys their princes, and infants shall rule over them. 5 And the people will oppress one another, every one his fellow and every one his neighbor; the youth will be insolent to the elder, and the despised to the honorable. 6For a man will take hold of his brother in the house of his father, saying: "You have a cloak; you shall be our leader, and this heap of ruins shall be under your rule"; 7in that day he will speak out, saying: "I will not be a healer; in my house there is neither bread nor cloak; you shall not make me leader of the people." 8For Jerusalem has stumbled, and Judah has fallen, because their speech and their deeds are against the Lord, defying his glorious presence. 9For the look on their faces bears witness against them; they proclaim their sin like Sodom; they do not hide it. Woe to them! For they have brought evil on themselves. 10 Tell the righteous that it shall be well with them, for they shall eat the fruit of their deeds. 11 Woe to the wicked! It shall be ill with him, for what his hands have dealt out shall be done to him. 12My people — infants are their oppressors, and women rule over them. 5People will oppress each other— man against man, neighbor against neighbor. The young will rise up against the old, the nobody against the honored.
6A man will seize one of his brothers in his father’s house, and say, "You have a cloak, you be our leader; take charge of this heap of ruins!"
7But in that day he will cry out, "I have no remedy. I have no food or clothing in my house; do not make me the leader of the people."
8Jerusalem staggers, Judah is falling; their words and deeds are against the Lord, defying his glorious presence.
