Jeremiah 22:9-10

Chapter 22

9Then they will answer, ‘Because they abandoned the covenant of the Lord their God and bowed down to other gods and served them.’?'
10Do not weep for the dead or mourn for him, But weep deeply for the one who goes away; For he will never return Or see his native land.

Chapter 22

9Then they shall answer, Because they have forsaken the covenant of the Lord their God, and worshipped other gods, and served them. 10Weep ye not for the dead, neither bemoan him: but weep sore for him that goeth away: for he shall return no more, nor see his native country.

9They will answer, ‘Because they abandoned the covenant of the Lord their God and bowed in worship to other gods and served them.’"
10Do not weep for the dead; do not mourn for him. Weep bitterly for the one who has gone away, for he will never return again and see his native land.

9And the answer will be, ‘Because they violated their covenant with the Lord their God by worshiping other gods.’'
10Do not weep for the dead king or mourn his loss. Instead, weep for the captive king being led away! For he will never return to see his native land again.
