Job 19:1-10
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 19
1Then Job responded,
2'How long will you torment me And crush me with words?
3These ten times you have insulted me; You are not ashamed to wrong me.
4Even if I have truly done wrong, My error stays with me.
5If indeed you exalt yourselves against me And prove my disgrace to me,
6Know then that God has wronged me And has surrounded me with His net.
7'Behold, I cry, ‘Violence!’ but I get no answer; I shout for help, but there is no justice.
8He has blocked my way so that I cannot pass, And He has put darkness on my paths.
9He has stripped my honor from me And removed the crown from my head.
10He breaks me down on every side, and I am gone; And He has uprooted my hope like a tree.
King James Version
Chapter 19
1Then Job answered and said, 2How long will ye vex my soul, and break me in pieces with words?Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 19
1Then Job answered:
2How long will you torment me and crush me with words?
3You have humiliated me ten times now, and you mistreat me without shame.
4Even if it is true that I have sinned, my mistake concerns only me.
5If you really want to appear superior to me and would use my disgrace as evidence against me,
6then understand that it is God who has wronged me and caught me in his net.
7I cry out: "Violence!" but get no response; I call for help, but there is no justice.
8He has blocked my way so that I cannot pass through; he has veiled my paths with darkness.
9He has stripped me of my honor and removed the crown from my head.
10He tears me down on every side so that I am ruined. He uproots my hope like a tree.
New Living Translation
Chapter 19
1Then Job spoke again:
2'How long will you torture me? How long will you try to crush me with your words?
3You have already insulted me ten times. You should be ashamed of treating me so badly.
4Even if I have sinned, that is my concern, not yours.
5You think you’re better than I am, using my humiliation as evidence of my sin.
6But it is God who has wronged me, capturing me in his net.
7'I cry out, ‘Help!’ but no one answers me. I protest, but there is no justice.
8God has blocked my way so I cannot move. He has plunged my path into darkness.
9He has stripped me of my honor and removed the crown from my head.
10He has demolished me on every side, and I am finished. He has uprooted my hope like a fallen tree.

Chapter 19
1Then Job answered and said:
2"How long will you torment me and break me in pieces with words?
3These ten times you have cast reproach upon me; are you not ashamed to wrong me?
4And even if it be true that I have erred, my error remains with myself.
5If indeed you magnify yourselves against me and make my disgrace an argument against me,
6know then that God has put me in the wrong and closed his net about me.
7Behold, I cry out, ‘Violence!’ but I am not answered; I call for help, but there is no justice.
8He has walled up my way, so that I cannot pass, and he has set darkness upon my paths.
9He has stripped from me my glory and taken the crown from my head.
10He breaks me down on every side, and I am gone, and my hope has he pulled up like a tree.
New International Version
Chapter 19
1Then Job replied:
2"How long will you torment me and crush me with words?
3Ten times now you have reproached me; shamelessly you attack me.
4If it is true that I have gone astray, my error remains my concern alone.
5If indeed you would exalt yourselves above me and use my humiliation against me,
6then know that God has wronged me and drawn his net around me.
7"Though I cry, ‘Violence!’ I get no response; though I call for help, there is no justice.
8He has blocked my way so I cannot pass; he has shrouded my paths in darkness.
9He has stripped me of my honor and removed the crown from my head.
10He tears me down on every side till I am gone; he uproots my hope like a tree.
