Job 23:13-17
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 23
13But He is unique, and who can make Him turn? Whatever His soul desires, He does it. 14For He carries out what is destined for me, And many such destinies are with Him. 15Therefore, I would be terrified at His presence; When I consider this, I am frightened of Him. 16 It is God who has made my heart faint, And the Almighty who has terrified me, 17But I am not destroyed by darkness, Nor by deep gloom which covers me.King James Version
Christian Standard Bible

13But he is unchangeable; who can oppose him? He does what he desires. 14He will certainly accomplish what he has decreed for me, and he has many more things like these in mind. 15Therefore I am terrified in his presence; when I consider this, I am afraid of him. 16God has made my heart faint; the Almighty has terrified me. 17Yet I am not destroyed by the darkness, by the thick darkness that covers my face.New Living Translation
Chapter 23
13But once he has made his decision, who can change his mind? Whatever he wants to do, he does. 14So he will do to me whatever he has planned. He controls my destiny. 15No wonder I am so terrified in his presence. When I think of it, terror grips me. 16God has made me sick at heart; the Almighty has terrified me. 17Darkness is all around me; thick, impenetrable darkness is everywhere.English Standard Version
Chapter 23
13But he is unchangeable, and who can turn him back? Chapter 23
13"But he stands alone, and who can oppose him? He does whatever he pleases. 14He carries out his decree against me, and many such plans he still has in store. 15That is why I am terrified before him; when I think of all this, I fear him. 16God has made my heart faint; the Almighty has terrified me. 17Yet I am not silenced by the darkness, by the thick darkness that covers my face.New King James Version
