Chapter 39

15And she forgets that a foot may crush them, Or that a wild animal may trample them. 16She treats her young cruelly, as if they were not hers; Though her labor is for nothing, she is unconcerned, 17Because God has made her forget wisdom, And has not given her a share of understanding. 18When she rushes away on high, She laughs at the horse and his rider. 19'Do you give the horse his might? Do you clothe his neck with a mane?

15And forgetteth that the foot may crush them, or that the wild beast may break them.
16She is hardened against her young ones, as though they were not hers: her labour is in vain without fear;
17Because God hath deprived her of wisdom, neither hath he imparted to her understanding.
18What time she lifteth up herself on high, she scorneth the horse and his rider.
19Hast thou given the horse strength? hast thou clothed his neck with thunder?

15She doesn’t worry that a foot might crush them or a wild animal might destroy them. 16She is harsh toward her young, as if they were not her own. She doesn’t care if they die. 17For God has deprived her of wisdom. He has given her no understanding. 18But whenever she jumps up to run, she passes the swiftest horse with its rider.
19'Have you given the horse its strength or clothed its neck with a flowing mane?
