Job 41:16-33
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 41
16One is so close to another That no air can come between them. 17They are joined one to another; They clasp each other and cannot be separated. 18His sneezes flash forth light, And his eyes are like the eye of dawn. 19From his mouth go burning torches; Sparks of fire leap forth. 20From his nostrils smoke goes out As from a boiling pot and burning reeds. 21His breath sets coals aglow, And a flame goes forth from his mouth. 22In his neck dwells strength, And dismay leaps before him. 23The folds of his flesh are joined together, Firm and immovable on him. 24His heart is as firm as a stone, And as firm as a lower millstone. 25When he rises up, the mighty are afraid; Because of the crashing they are bewildered. 26The sword that reaches him cannot prevail, Nor the spear, the dart, or the javelin. 27He regards iron as straw, Bronze as rotten wood. 28The arrow cannot make him flee; Slingstones are turned into stubble for him. 29Clubs are regarded as stubble; He laughs at the rattling of the javelin. 30His underparts are like sharp pieces of pottery; He spreads out like a threshing sledge on the mud. 31He makes the depths boil like a pot; He makes the sea like a jar of ointment. 32Behind him he illuminates a pathway; One would think the deep to be gray-haired. 33Nothing on earth is like him, One made without fear.King James Version

Chapter 41
16One scale is so close to another that no air can pass between them. 17They are joined to one another, so closely connected they cannot be separated. 18His snorting flashes with light, while his eyes are like the rays of dawn. 19Flaming torches shoot from his mouth; fiery sparks fly out! 20Smoke billows from his nostrils as from a boiling pot or burning reeds. 21His breath sets coals ablaze, and flames pour out of his mouth. 22Strength resides in his neck, and dismay dances before him. 23The folds of his flesh are joined together, solid as metal and immovable. 24His heart is as hard as a rock, as hard as a lower millstone! 25When Leviathan rises, the mighty are terrified; they withdraw because of his thrashing. 26The sword that reaches him will have no effect, nor will a spear, dart, or arrow. 27He regards iron as straw, and bronze as rotten wood. 28No arrow can make him flee; slingstones become like stubble to him. 29A club is regarded as stubble, and he laughs at the sound of a javelin. 30His undersides are jagged potsherds, spreading the mud like a threshing sledge. 31He makes the depths seethe like a cauldron; he makes the sea like an ointment jar. 32He leaves a shining wake behind him; one would think the deep had gray hair! 33He has no equal on earth— a creature devoid of fear!New Living Translation
Chapter 41
16They are so close together that no air can get between them. 17Each scale sticks tight to the next. They interlock and cannot be penetrated.
18'When it sneezes, it flashes light! Its eyes are like the red of dawn.
19Lightning leaps from its mouth; flames of fire flash out.
20Smoke streams from its nostrils like steam from a pot heated over burning rushes.
21Its breath would kindle coals, for flames shoot from its mouth.
22'The tremendous strength in Leviathan’s neck strikes terror wherever it goes.
23Its flesh is hard and firm and cannot be penetrated.
24Its heart is hard as rock, hard as a millstone.
25When it rises, the mighty are afraid, gripped by terror.
26No sword can stop it, no spear, dart, or javelin.
27Iron is nothing but straw to that creature, and bronze is like rotten wood.
28Arrows cannot make it flee. Stones shot from a sling are like bits of grass.
29Clubs are like a blade of grass, and it laughs at the swish of javelins.
30Its belly is covered with scales as sharp as glass. It plows up the ground as it drags through the mud.

Chapter 41
16One is so near to another that no air can come between them. 17They are joined one to another; they clasp each other and cannot be separated. 18His sneezings flash forth light, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the dawn. 19Out of his mouth go flaming torches; sparks of fire leap forth. 20Out of his nostrils comes forth smoke, as from a boiling pot and burning rushes. 21His breath kindles coals, and a flame comes forth from his mouth. 22In his neck abides strength, and terror dances before him. 23The folds of his flesh stick together, firmly cast on him and immovable. 24His heart is hard as a stone, hard as the lower millstone. 25When he raises himself up, the mighty are afraid; at the crashing they are beside themselves. 26Though the sword reaches him, it does not avail, nor the spear, the dart, or the javelin. 27He counts iron as straw, and bronze as rotten wood. 28The arrow cannot make him flee; for him, sling stones are turned to stubble. 29Clubs are counted as stubble; he laughs at the rattle of javelins. 30His underparts are like sharp potsherds; he spreads himself like a threshing sledge on the mire. 31He makes the deep boil like a pot; he makes the sea like a pot of ointment. 32Behind him he leaves a shining wake; one would think the deep to be white-haired. 33 On earth there is not his like, a creature without fear.New International Version
Chapter 41
16each is so close to the next that no air can pass between. 17They are joined fast to one another; they cling together and cannot be parted. 18Its snorting throws out flashes of light; its eyes are like the rays of dawn. 19Flames stream from its mouth; sparks of fire shoot out. 20Smoke pours from its nostrils as from a boiling pot over burning reeds. 21Its breath sets coals ablaze, and flames dart from its mouth. 22Strength resides in its neck; dismay goes before it. 23The folds of its flesh are tightly joined; they are firm and immovable. 24Its chest is hard as rock, hard as a lower millstone. 25When it rises up, the mighty are terrified; they retreat before its thrashing. 26The sword that reaches it has no effect, nor does the spear or the dart or the javelin. 27Iron it treats like straw and bronze like rotten wood. 28Arrows do not make it flee; slingstones are like chaff to it. 29A club seems to it but a piece of straw; it laughs at the rattling of the lance. 30Its undersides are jagged potsherds, leaving a trail in the mud like a threshing sledge. 31It makes the depths churn like a boiling caldron and stirs up the sea like a pot of ointment. 32It leaves a glistening wake behind it; one would think the deep had white hair. 33Nothing on earth is its equal— a creature without fear.New King James Version
