Job 41:8-24
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 41
8Lay your hand on him. Remember the battle; you will not do it again! 9 Behold, your expectation is false; Will you be hurled down even at the sight of him? 10No one is so reckless that he dares to stir him; Who then is he who opposes Me? 11Who has been first to give to Me, that I should repay him? Whatever is under the entire heaven is Mine. 12'I will not be silent about his limbs, Or his mighty strength, or his graceful frame. 13Who can strip off his outer covering? Who can pierce his double armor? 14Who can open the doors of his face? Around his teeth there is terror. 15 His strong scales are his pride, Locked as with a tight seal. 16One is so close to another That no air can come between them. 17They are joined one to another; They clasp each other and cannot be separated. 18His sneezes flash forth light, And his eyes are like the eye of dawn. 19From his mouth go burning torches; Sparks of fire leap forth. 20From his nostrils smoke goes out As from a boiling pot and burning reeds. 21His breath sets coals aglow, And a flame goes forth from his mouth. 22In his neck dwells strength, And dismay leaps before him. 23The folds of his flesh are joined together, Firm and immovable on him. 24His heart is as firm as a stone, And as firm as a lower millstone.King James Version

Chapter 41
8Lay a hand on him. You will remember the battle and never repeat it! 9Any hope of capturing him proves false. Does a person not collapse at the very sight of him? 10No one is ferocious enough to rouse Leviathan; who then can stand against me?
11Who confronted me, that I should repay him? Everything under heaven belongs to me.
12I cannot be silent about his limbs, his power, and his graceful proportions.
13Who can strip off his outer covering? Who can penetrate his double layer of armor?
14Who can open his jaws, surrounded by those terrifying teeth?
15His pride is in his rows of scales, closely sealed together.
16One scale is so close to another that no air can pass between them.
17They are joined to one another, so closely connected they cannot be separated.
18His snorting flashes with light, while his eyes are like the rays of dawn.
19Flaming torches shoot from his mouth; fiery sparks fly out!
20Smoke billows from his nostrils as from a boiling pot or burning reeds.
21His breath sets coals ablaze, and flames pour out of his mouth.
22Strength resides in his neck, and dismay dances before him.
23The folds of his flesh are joined together, solid as metal and immovable.
24His heart is as hard as a rock, as hard as a lower millstone!
New Living Translation
Chapter 41
8If you lay a hand on it, you will certainly remember the battle that follows. You won’t try that again! 9 No, it is useless to try to capture it. The hunter who attempts it will be knocked down. 10And since no one dares to disturb it, who then can stand up to me? 11Who has given me anything that I need to pay back? Everything under heaven is mine.
12'I want to emphasize Leviathan’s limbs and its enormous strength and graceful form.
13Who can strip off its hide, and who can penetrate its double layer of armor?
14Who could pry open its jaws? For its teeth are terrible!
15The scales on its back are like rows of shields tightly sealed together.
16They are so close together that no air can get between them.
17Each scale sticks tight to the next. They interlock and cannot be penetrated.

Chapter 41
8Lay your hands on him; remember the battle — you will not do it again! 9 Behold, the hope of a man is false; he is laid low even at the sight of him. 10No one is so fierce that he dares to stir him up. Who then is he who can stand before me? 11 Who has first given to me, that I should repay him? Whatever is under the whole heaven is mine. 12"I will not keep silence concerning his limbs, or his mighty strength, or his goodly frame. 13Who can strip off his outer garment? Who would come near him with a bridle? 14Who can open the doors of his face? Around his teeth is terror. 15His back is made of rows of shields, shut up closely as with a seal. 16One is so near to another that no air can come between them. 17They are joined one to another; they clasp each other and cannot be separated. 18His sneezings flash forth light, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the dawn. 19Out of his mouth go flaming torches; sparks of fire leap forth. 20Out of his nostrils comes forth smoke, as from a boiling pot and burning rushes. 21His breath kindles coals, and a flame comes forth from his mouth. 22In his neck abides strength, and terror dances before him. 23The folds of his flesh stick together, firmly cast on him and immovable. 24His heart is hard as a stone, hard as the lower millstone.New International Version
Chapter 41
8If you lay a hand on it, you will remember the struggle and never do it again! 9Any hope of subduing it is false; the mere sight of it is overpowering. 10No one is fierce enough to rouse it. Who then is able to stand against me?
11Who has a claim against me that I must pay? Everything under heaven belongs to me.
12"I will not fail to speak of Leviathan’s limbs, its strength and its graceful form.
13Who can strip off its outer coat? Who can penetrate its double coat of armor ?
14Who dares open the doors of its mouth, ringed about with fearsome teeth?
15Its back has rows of shields tightly sealed together;
16each is so close to the next that no air can pass between.
17They are joined fast to one another; they cling together and cannot be parted.
18Its snorting throws out flashes of light; its eyes are like the rays of dawn.
19Flames stream from its mouth; sparks of fire shoot out.
20Smoke pours from its nostrils as from a boiling pot over burning reeds.
21Its breath sets coals ablaze, and flames dart from its mouth.
22Strength resides in its neck; dismay goes before it.
23The folds of its flesh are tightly joined; they are firm and immovable.
24Its chest is hard as rock, hard as a lower millstone.
