Chapter 14

4And you know the way where I am going.' 5Thomas *said to Him, 'Lord, we do not know where You are going; how do we know the way?' 6Jesus *said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me.
7If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him.'
8Philip *said to Him, 'Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.' 9Jesus *said to him, 'Have I been with you for so long a time, and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? The one who has seen Me has seen the Father; how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on My own, but the Father, as He remains in Me, does His works.

4And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. 5Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? 6Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. 7If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. 8Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. 9Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father 10Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

6Jesus told him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7If you know me, you will also know my Father. From now on you do know him and have seen him."
8"Lord," said Philip, "show us the Father, and that’s enough for us."
9Jesus said to him, "Have I been among you all this time and you do not know me, Philip? The one who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words I speak to you I do not speak on my own. The Father who lives in me does his works.

5No, we don’t know, Lord,' Thomas said. 'We have no idea where you are going, so how can we know the way?'
6Jesus told him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. 7If you had really known me, you would know who my Father is. From now on, you do know him and have seen him!'
8Philip said, 'Lord, show us the Father, and we will be satisfied.'
9Jesus replied, 'Have I been with you all this time, Philip, and yet you still don’t know who I am? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father! So why are you asking me to show him to you? 10Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words I speak are not my own, but my Father who lives in me does his work through me.
