Chapter 2
1On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there; 2and both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding. 3When the wine ran out, the mother of Jesus *said to Him, 'They have no wine.' 4And Jesus *said to her, 'What business do you have with Me, woman? My hour has not yet come.' 5His mother *said to the servants, 'Whatever He tells you, do it.' 6Now there were six stone waterpots standing there for the Jewish custom of purification, containing two or three measures each. 7Jesus *said to them, 'Fill the waterpots with water.' So they filled them up to the brim. 8And He *said to them, 'Draw some out now and take it to the headwaiter.' And they took it to him. 9Now when the headwaiter tasted the water which had become wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the headwaiter *called the groom,King James Version

1On the third day a wedding took place in Cana of Galilee. Jesus’s mother was there, and 2Jesus and his disciples were invited to the wedding as well. 3When the wine ran out, Jesus’s mother told him, "They don’t have any wine."New Living Translation

1The next day there was a wedding celebration in the village of Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there, 2and Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the celebration. 3The wine supply ran out during the festivities, so Jesus’ mother told him, 'They have no more wine.'
6Standing nearby were six stone water jars, used for Jewish ceremonial washing. Each could hold twenty to thirty gallons.
7Jesus told the servants, 'Fill the jars with water.' When the jars had been filled,
8he said, 'Now dip some out, and take it to the master of ceremonies.' So the servants followed his instructions.

6Now there were six stone water jars there for the Jewish rites of purification, each holding twenty or thirty gallons.
7Jesus said to the servants, "Fill the jars with water." And they filled them up to the brim.
8And he said to them, "Now draw some out and take it to the master of the feast." So they took it.
9When the master of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and did not know where it came from (though the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom

9and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside
