Chapter 5

38Also you do not have His word remaining in you, because you do not believe Him whom He sent.
39You examine the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is those very Scriptures that testify about Me; 40and yet you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life. 41I do not receive glory from people; 42but I know you, that you do not have the love of God in yourselves.

38And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not. 39Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. 40And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.
41I receive not honour from men. 42But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you.
