Chapter 7
10But when His brothers had gone up to the feast, then He Himself also went up, not publicly, but as though in secret. 11So the Jews were looking for Him at the feast and saying, 'Where is He?' 12And there was a great deal of talk about Him in secret among the crowds: some were saying, 'He is a good man'; others were saying, 'No, on the contrary, He is misleading the people.' 13However, no one was speaking openly about Him, for fear of the Jews.King James Version

10But after his brothers left for the festival, Jesus also went, though secretly, staying out of public view. 11The Jewish leaders tried to find him at the festival and kept asking if anyone had seen him. 12There was a lot of grumbling about him among the crowds. Some argued, 'He’s a good man,' but others said, 'He’s nothing but a fraud who deceives the people.' 13But no one had the courage to speak favorably about him in public, for they were afraid of getting in trouble with the Jewish leaders.English Standard Version

12Among the crowds there was widespread whispering about him. Some said, "He is a good man." Others replied, "No, he deceives the people."
13But no one would say anything publicly about him for fear of the leaders.
