John 9:1-7
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 9
1As Jesus passed by, He saw a man who had been blind from birth. 2And His disciples asked Him, 'Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he would be born blind?' 3Jesus answered, 'It was neither that this man sinned, nor his parents; but it was so that the works of God might be displayed in him. 4We must carry out the works of Him who sent Me as long as it is day; night is coming, when no one can work. 5While I am in the world, I am the Light of the world.' 6When He had said this, He spit on the ground, and made mud from the saliva, and applied the mud to his eyes, 7and said to him, 'Go, wash in the pool of Siloam' (which is translated, Sent). So he left and washed, and came back seeing.King James Version
Chapter 9
1And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. 2And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? 3Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. 4I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. 5As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. 6When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay, 7And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.Christian Standard Bible

Chapter 9
1As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man who had been blind from birth. 2Rabbi,' his disciples asked him, 'why was this man born blind? Was it because of his own sins or his parents’ sins?'
3It was not because of his sins or his parents’ sins,' Jesus answered. 'This happened so the power of God could be seen in him.
4We must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the one who sent us. The night is coming, and then no one can work.
5But while I am here in the world, I am the light of the world.'
