John 9:31-41

Chapter 9

31We know that God does not listen to sinners; but if someone is God-fearing and does His will, He listens to him. 32Since the beginning of time it has never been heard that anyone opened the eyes of a person born blind. 33If this man were not from God, He could do nothing.' 34They answered him, 'You were born entirely in sins, and yet you are teaching us?' So they put him out.
35Jesus heard that they had put him out, and upon finding him, He said, 'Do you believe in the Son of Man?' 36He answered by saying, 'And who is He, Sir, that I may believe in Him?' 37Jesus said to him, 'You have both seen Him, and He is the one who is talking with you.' 38And he said, 'I believe, Lord.' And he worshiped Him. 39And Jesus said, 'For judgment I came into this world, so that those who do not see may see, and those who see may become blind.' 40Those who were with Him from the Pharisees heard these things and said to Him, 'We are not blind too, are we?' 41Jesus said to them, 'If you were blind, you would have no sin; but now that you maintain, ‘We see,’ your sin remains.

31Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth. 32Since the world began was it not heard that any man opened the eyes of one that was born blind. 33If this man were not of God, he could do nothing. 34They answered and said unto him, Thou wast altogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out.
35Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God 36He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him? 37And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee.
38And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him. 39And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.
40And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also? 41Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.

31We know that God doesn’t listen to sinners, but he is ready to hear those who worship him and do his will. 32Ever since the world began, no one has been able to open the eyes of someone born blind. 33If this man were not from God, he couldn’t have done it.'
34You were born a total sinner!' they answered. 'Are you trying to teach us?' And they threw him out of the synagogue.
35When Jesus heard what had happened, he found the man and asked, 'Do you believe in the Son of Man? '
36The man answered, 'Who is he, sir? I want to believe in him.'
37You have seen him,' Jesus said, 'and he is speaking to you!'
38Yes, Lord, I believe!' the man said. And he worshiped Jesus.
39Then Jesus told him, 'I entered this world to render judgment — to give sight to the blind and to show those who think they see that they are blind.'
40Some Pharisees who were standing nearby heard him and asked, 'Are you saying we’re blind?'
41If you were blind, you wouldn’t be guilty,' Jesus replied. 'But you remain guilty because you claim you can see.
