Chapter 3
1Now the word of the Lord came to Jonah the second time, saying, 2Arise, go to Nineveh, the great city, and proclaim to it the proclamation which I am going to tell you.' 3So Jonah got up and went to Nineveh according to the word of the Lord. Now Nineveh was an exceedingly large city, a three days’ walk. 4Then Jonah began to go through the city one day’s walk; and he cried out and said, 'Forty more days, and Nineveh will be overthrown.'King James Version

1And the word of the Lord came unto Jonah the second time, saying, 2Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee. 3So Jonah arose, and went unto Nineveh, according to the word of the Lord. Now Nineveh was an exceeding great city of three days' journey. 4And Jonah began to enter into the city a day's journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown.Christian Standard Bible

1The word of the Lord came to Jonah a second time: 2"Get up! Go to the great city of Nineveh and preach the message that I tell you."
3Jonah got up and went to Nineveh according to the Lord’s command. Now Nineveh was an extremely great city, a three-day walk.
4Jonah set out on the first day of his walk in the city and proclaimed, "In forty days Nineveh will be demolished!"
5Then the people of Nineveh believed God. They proclaimed a fast and dressed in sackcloth—from the greatest of them to the least.

1Then the Lord spoke to Jonah a second time: 2Get up and go to the great city of Nineveh, and deliver the message I have given you.'
3This time Jonah obeyed the Lord’s command and went to Nineveh, a city so large that it took three days to see it all.
4On the day Jonah entered the city, he shouted to the crowds: 'Forty days from now Nineveh will be destroyed!'
5The people of Nineveh believed God’s message, and from the greatest to the least, they declared a fast and put on burlap to show their sorrow.

Now Nineveh was an exceedingly great city, three days ' journey in breadth. 4Jonah began to go into the city, going a day 's journey. And he called out, "Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown!" 5And the people of Nineveh believed God. They called for a fast and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them to the least of them.New International Version
