Chapter 20

19So the sons of Israel got up in the morning and camped against Gibeah. 20The men of Israel went to battle against Benjamin, and the men of Israel lined up for battle against them at Gibeah. 21Then the sons of Benjamin came out of Gibeah and struck to the ground on that day twenty-two thousand men of Israel. 22But the people, the men of Israel, showed themselves courageous and lined up for battle again in the place where they had lined themselves up on the first day. 23And the sons of Israel went up and wept before the Lord until evening, and inquired of the Lord, saying, 'Shall we again advance for battle against the sons of my brother Benjamin?' And the Lord said, 'Go up against him.'
24So the sons of Israel came against the sons of Benjamin on the second day.

19And the children of Israel rose up in the morning, and encamped against Gibeah. 20And the men of Israel went out to battle against Benjamin; and the men of Israel put themselves in array to fight against them at Gibeah. 21And the children of Benjamin came forth out of Gibeah, and destroyed down to the ground of the Israelites that day twenty and two thousand men.
22And the people the men of Israel encouraged themselves, and set their battle again in array in the place where they put themselves in array the first day. 23(And the children of Israel went up and wept before the Lord until even, and asked counsel of the Lord, saying, Shall I go up again to battle against the children of Benjamin my brother? And the Lord said, Go up against him.) 24And the children of Israel came near against the children of Benjamin the second day.

Chapter 20

19In the morning, the Israelites set out and camped near Gibeah. 20The men of Israel went out to fight against Benjamin and took their battle positions against Gibeah. 21The Benjaminites came out of Gibeah and slaughtered twenty-two thousand men of Israel on the field that day. 22But the Israelite troops rallied and again took their battle positions in the same place where they positioned themselves on the first day.
23They went up, wept before the Lord until evening, and inquired of him: "Should we again attack our brothers the Benjaminites?" And the Lord answered: "Fight against them."
24On the second day the Israelites advanced against the Benjaminites.

Chapter 20

19So the Israelites left early the next morning and camped near Gibeah. 20Then they advanced toward Gibeah to attack the men of Benjamin. 21But Benjamin’s warriors, who were defending the town, came out and killed 22,000 Israelites on the battlefield that day.
22But the Israelites encouraged each other and took their positions again at the same place they had fought the previous day.
23For they had gone up to Bethel and wept in the presence of the Lord until evening. They had asked the Lord, 'Should we fight against our relatives from Benjamin again?' And the Lord had said, 'Go out and fight against them.'
24So the next day they went out again to fight against the men of Benjamin,

19Then the people of Israel rose in the morning and encamped against Gibeah. 20And the men of Israel went out to fight against Benjamin, and the men of Israel drew up the battle line against them at Gibeah. 21The people of Benjamin came out of Gibeah and destroyed on that day 22,000 men of the Israelites. 22But the people, the men of Israel, took courage, and again formed the battle line in the same place where they had formed it on the first day. 23And the people of Israel went up and wept before the Lord until the evening. And they inquired of the Lord, "Shall we again draw near to fight against our brothers, the people of Benjamin?" And the Lord said, "Go up against them."
24So the people of Israel came near against the people of Benjamin the second day.

24Then the Israelites drew near to Benjamin the second day.
