Chapter 6

14And the Lord looked at him and said, 'Go in this strength of yours and save Israel from the hand of Midian. Have I not sent you?' 15But he said to Him, 'O Lord, how am I to save Israel? Behold, my family is the least in Manasseh, and I am the youngest in my father’s house.' 16Yet the Lord said to him, 'I will certainly be with you, and you will defeat Midian as one man.' 17So Gideon said to Him, 'If now I have found favor in Your sight, then perform for me a sign that it is You speaking with me.

Chapter 6

14And the Lord looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee? 15And he said unto him, Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold, my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house. 16And the Lord said unto him, Surely I will be with thee, and thou shalt smite the Midianites as one man. 17And he said unto him, If now I have found grace in thy sight, then shew me a sign that thou talkest with me.

14The Lord turned to him and said, "Go in the strength you have and deliver Israel from the grasp of Midian. I am sending you!"
15He said to him, "Please, Lord, how can I deliver Israel? Look, my family is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the youngest in my father’s family."
16"But I will be with you," the Lord said to him. "You will strike Midian down as if it were one man."
17Then he said to him, "If I have found favor with you, give me a sign that you are speaking with me.

14Then the Lord turned to him and said, 'Go with the strength you have, and rescue Israel from the Midianites. I am sending you!'
15But Lord,' Gideon replied, 'how can I rescue Israel? My clan is the weakest in the whole tribe of Manasseh, and I am the least in my entire family!'
16The Lord said to him, 'I will be with you. And you will destroy the Midianites as if you were fighting against one man.'
17Gideon replied, 'If you are truly going to help me, show me a sign to prove that it is really the Lord speaking to me.
