Chapter 14
35then the one who owns the house shall come and tell the priest, saying, ‘ Something like a spot of leprosy has become visible to me in the house.’ 36The priest shall then command that they empty the house before the priest goes in to look at the spot, so that everything in the house need not become unclean; and afterward the priest shall go in to look at the house. 37So he shall look at the spot, and if the spot on the walls of the house has greenish or reddish depressions and appears deeper than the surface, 38the priest shall come out of the house, to the doorway, and quarantine the house for seven days. 39Then the priest shall return on the seventh day and make an inspection. If the spot has indeed spread on the walls of the house, 40the priest shall order them to pull out the stones with the spot on them and throw them away at an unclean place outside the city. 41And he shall have the house scraped all around inside, and they shall dump the plaster that they scrape off at an unclean place outside the city. 42Then they shall take other stones and replace the discarded stones, and he shall take other plaster and replaster the house.
43If, however, the spot breaks out again in the house after he has pulled out the stones and scraped the house, and after it has been replastered,
44then the priest shall come in and make an inspection. If he sees that the spot has indeed spread in the house, it is a malignant spot in the house; it is unclean.
45The owner shall therefore tear down the house, its stones, its timbers, and all the plaster of the house, and he shall take them outside the city to an unclean place.
46Moreover, whoever goes into the house during the time that he has quarantined it, becomes unclean until evening.
47Likewise, whoever lies down in the house shall wash his clothes, and whoever eats in the house shall wash his clothes.
48If, on the other hand, the priest comes in and makes an inspection and the spot has not indeed spread in the house after the house has been replastered, then the priest shall pronounce the house clean because the spot has not reappeared.
49To cleanse the house then, he shall take two birds, cedar wood, a scarlet string, and hyssop,
50and he shall slaughter the one bird in an earthenware vessel over running water.
51Then he shall take the cedar wood, the hyssop, and the scarlet string, with the live bird, and dip them in the blood of the slaughtered bird as well as in the running water, and sprinkle the house seven times.
52So he shall cleanse the house with the blood of the bird and with the running water, along with the live bird, the cedar wood, the hyssop, and the scarlet string.
53However, he shall let the live bird go free outside the city into the open field. So he shall make atonement for the house, and it will be clean.'

45And he shall break down the house, the stones of it, and the timber thereof, and all the morter of the house; and he shall carry them forth out of the city into an unclean place.
46Moreover he that goeth into the house all the while that it is shut up shall be unclean until the even.
47And he that lieth in the house shall wash his clothes; and he that eateth in the house shall wash his clothes.
48And if the priest shall come in, and look upon it, and, behold, the plague hath not spread in the house, after the house was plaistered: then the priest shall pronounce the house clean, because the plague is healed.
49And he shall take to cleanse the house two birds, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop:
50And he shall kill the one of the birds in an earthen vessel over running water:
51And he shall take the cedar wood, and the hyssop, and the scarlet, and the living bird, and dip them in the blood of the slain bird, and in the running water, and sprinkle the house seven times:
52And he shall cleanse the house with the blood of the bird, and with the running water, and with the living bird, and with the cedar wood, and with the hyssop, and with the scarlet:
53But he shall let go the living bird out of the city into the open fields, and make an atonement for the house: and it shall be clean.
54This is the law for all manner of plague of leprosy, and scall,

Afterward the priest will come to examine the house. 37He will examine it, and if the contamination in the walls of the house consists of green or red indentations that appear to be beneath the surface of the wall, 38the priest is to go outside the house to its doorway and quarantine the house for seven days. 39The priest is to return on the seventh day and examine it. If the contamination has spread on the walls of the house, 40the priest must order that the stones with the contamination be pulled out and thrown into an unclean place outside the city. 41He is to have the inside of the house completely scraped, and have the plaster that is scraped off dumped in an unclean place outside the city. 42Then they are to take different stones to replace the former ones and take additional plaster to replaster the house.
43"If the contamination reappears in the house after the stones have been pulled out, and after the house has been scraped and replastered,
44the priest is to come and examine it. If the contamination has spread in the house, it is harmful mildew; the house is unclean.
45It must be torn down with its stones, its beams, and all its plaster, and taken outside the city to an unclean place.
46Whoever enters the house during any of the days the priest quarantines it will be unclean until evening.
47Whoever lies down in the house is to wash his clothes, and whoever eats in it is to wash his clothes.
48"But when the priest comes and examines it, if the contamination has not spread in the house after it was replastered, he is to pronounce the house clean because the contamination has disappeared.
49He is to take two birds, cedar wood, scarlet yarn, and hyssop to purify the house,
50and he is to slaughter one of the birds over a clay pot containing fresh water.
51He will take the cedar wood, the hyssop, the scarlet yarn, and the live bird, dip them in the blood of the slaughtered bird and the fresh water, and sprinkle the house seven times.
52He will purify the house with the blood of the bird, the fresh water, the live bird, the cedar wood, the hyssop, and the scarlet yarn.
53Then he is to release the live bird into the open countryside outside the city. In this way he will make atonement for the house, and it will be clean.

Chapter 14
35The owner of such a house must then go to the priest and say, ‘It appears that my house has some kind of mildew.’ 36Before the priest goes in to inspect the house, he must have the house emptied so nothing inside will be pronounced ceremonially unclean. 37Then the priest will go in and examine the mildew on the walls. If he finds greenish or reddish streaks and the contamination appears to go deeper than the wall’s surface, 38the priest will step outside the door and put the house in quarantine for seven days. 39On the seventh day the priest must return for another inspection. If he finds that the mildew on the walls of the house has spread, 40the priest must order that the stones from those areas be removed. The contaminated material will then be taken outside the town to an area designated as ceremonially unclean. 41Next the inside walls of the entire house must be scraped thoroughly and the scrapings dumped in the unclean place outside the town. 42Other stones will be brought in to replace the ones that were removed, and the walls will be replastered.
43But if the mildew reappears after all the stones have been replaced and the house has been scraped and replastered,
44the priest must return and inspect the house again. If he finds that the mildew has spread, the walls are clearly contaminated with a serious mildew, and the house is defiled.
45It must be torn down, and all its stones, timbers, and plaster must be carried out of town to the place designated as ceremonially unclean.
46Those who enter the house during the period of quarantine will be ceremonially unclean until evening,
47and all who sleep or eat in the house must wash their clothing.
48But if the priest returns for his inspection and finds that the mildew has not reappeared in the house after the fresh plastering, he will pronounce it clean because the mildew is clearly gone.
49To purify the house the priest must take two birds, a stick of cedar, some scarlet yarn, and a hyssop branch.
50He will slaughter one of the birds over a clay pot filled with fresh water.
51He will take the cedar stick, the hyssop branch, the scarlet yarn, and the live bird, and dip them into the blood of the slaughtered bird and into the fresh water. Then he will sprinkle the house seven times.
52When the priest has purified the house in exactly this way,
53he will release the live bird in the open fields outside the town. Through this process, the priest will purify the house, and it will be ceremonially clean.

And afterward the priest shall go in to see the house. 37And he shall examine the disease. And if the disease is in the walls of the house with greenish or reddish spots, and if it appears to be deeper than the surface, 38then the priest shall go out of the house to the door of the house and shut up the house seven days. 39And the priest shall come again on the seventh day, and look. 45And he shall break down the house, its stones and timber and all the plaster of the house, and he shall carry them out of the city to an unclean place.
46Moreover, whoever enters the house while it is shut up shall be unclean until the evening,
47and whoever sleeps in the house shall wash his clothes, and whoever eats in the house shall wash his clothes.
48"But if the priest comes and looks, and if the disease has not spread in the house after the house was plastered, then the priest shall pronounce the house clean, for the disease is healed.
49And for the cleansing of the house he shall take two small birds, with cedarwood and scarlet yarn and hyssop,
50and shall kill one of the birds in an earthenware vessel over fresh water
51and shall take the cedarwood and the hyssop and the scarlet yarn, along with the live bird, and dip them in the blood of the bird that was killed and in the fresh water and sprinkle the house seven times.
52Thus he shall cleanse the house with the blood of the bird and with the fresh water and with the live bird and with the cedarwood and hyssop and scarlet yarn.
53And he shall let the live bird go out of the city into the open country. So he shall make atonement for the house, and it shall be clean."

After this the priest is to go in and inspect the house. 37He is to examine the mold on the walls, and if it has greenish or reddish depressions that appear to be deeper than the surface of the wall, 38the priest shall go out the doorway of the house and close it up for seven days. 39On the seventh day the priest shall return to inspect the house. If the mold has spread on the walls, 40he is to order that the contaminated stones be torn out and thrown into an unclean place outside the town. 41He must have all the inside walls of the house scraped and the material that is scraped off dumped into an unclean place outside the town. 42Then they are to take other stones to replace these and take new clay and plaster the house.

46"Anyone who goes into the house while it is closed up will be unclean till evening.
47Anyone who sleeps or eats in the house must wash their clothes.
48"But if the priest comes to examine it and the mold has not spread after the house has been plastered, he shall pronounce the house clean, because the defiling mold is gone.
