Chapter 22
3Say to them, ‘Any man among all your descendants throughout your generations who approaches the holy gifts which the sons of Israel consecrate to the Lord, while he has an uncleanness, that person shall be cut off from My presence; I am the Lord. 4No man of the descendants of Aaron, who has leprosy or has a discharge, may eat of the holy gifts until he is clean. And one who touches anything made unclean by a corpse, or a man who has a seminal emission, 5or a man who touches any swarming things by which he is made unclean, or touches any person by whom he is made unclean, whatever his uncleanness; 6a person who touches any such thing shall be unclean until evening, and shall not eat of the holy gifts unless he has bathed his body in water. 7But when the sun sets, he will be clean, and afterward he may eat of the holy gifts, for it is his food. 8He shall not eat an animal which dies or is torn by animals, becoming unclean by it; I am the Lord. 9They shall therefore perform their duty to Me, so that they do not bear sin because of it and die by it because they profane it; I am the Lord who sanctifies them.
10‘No layman, however, is to eat the holy gift; a foreign resident with the priest or a hired worker shall not eat the holy gift.
11But if a priest buys a slave as his property with his money, that person may eat of it, and those who are born in his house may eat of his food.
12If a priest’s daughter is married to a layman, she shall not eat of the offering of the holy gifts.
13But if a priest’s daughter becomes a widow or divorced, and has no child and returns to her father’s house as in her youth, she may eat of her father’s food; but no layman shall eat of it.
14If, however, someone eats a holy food unintentionally, then he shall add to it a fifth of it and shall give the holy food to the priest.
15And they shall not profane the holy gifts of the sons of Israel, which they offer to the Lord,
16and thereby bring upon them punishment for guilt by eating their holy gifts; for I am the Lord who sanctifies them.’?'
17Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
18Speak to Aaron and to his sons, and to all the sons of Israel, and say to them, ‘Anyone of the house of Israel or of the strangers in Israel who presents his offering, whether it is any of their vows or any of their voluntary offerings, which they present to the Lord as a burnt offering—
19for you to be accepted— it must be a male without defect from the cattle, the sheep, or the goats.

And whoso toucheth any thing that is unclean by the dead, or a man whose seed goeth from him; 5Or whosoever toucheth any creeping thing, whereby he may be made unclean, or a man of whom he may take uncleanness, whatsoever uncleanness he hath; 6The soul which hath touched any such shall be unclean until even, and shall not eat of the holy things, unless he wash his flesh with water. 7And when the sun is down, he shall be clean, and shall afterward eat of the holy things; because it is his food. 8That which dieth of itself, or is torn with beasts, he shall not eat to defile himself therewith: I am the Lord. 9They shall therefore keep mine ordinance, lest they bear sin for it, and die therefore, if they profane it: I the Lord do sanctify them.
10There shall no stranger eat of the holy thing: a sojourner of the priest, or an hired servant, shall not eat of the holy thing.
11But if the priest buy any soul with his money, he shall eat of it, and he that is born in his house: they shall eat of his meat.
12If the priest's daughter also be married unto a stranger, she may not eat of an offering of the holy things.
13But if the priest's daughter be a widow, or divorced, and have no child, and is returned unto her father's house, as in her youth, she shall eat of her father's meat: but there shall no stranger eat thereof.
14And if a man eat of the holy thing unwittingly, then he shall put the fifth part thereof unto it, and shall give it unto the priest with the holy thing.
15And they shall not profane the holy things of the children of Israel, which they offer unto the Lord;
16Or suffer them to bear the iniquity of trespass, when they eat their holy things: for I the Lord do sanctify them.
17And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
18Speak unto Aaron, and to his sons, and unto all the children of Israel, and say unto them, Whatsoever he be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers in Israel, that will offer his oblation for all his vows, and for all his freewill offerings, which they will offer unto the Lord for a burnt offering;
19Ye shall offer at your own will a male without blemish, of the beeves, of the sheep, or of the goats.

3Say to them: If any man from any of your descendants throughout your generations is in a state of uncleanness yet approaches the holy offerings that the Israelites consecrate to the Lord, that person will be cut off from my presence; I am the Lord. 4No man of Aaron’s descendants who has a skin disease or a discharge is to eat from the holy offerings until he is clean. Whoever touches anything made unclean by a dead person or by a man who has an emission of semen, 5or whoever touches any swarming creature that makes him unclean or any person who makes him unclean—whatever his uncleanness— 6the man who touches any of these will remain unclean until evening and is not to eat from the holy offerings unless he has bathed his body with water. 7When the sun has set, he will become clean, and then he may eat from the holy offerings, for that is his food. 8He must not eat an animal that died naturally or was mauled by wild beasts, making himself unclean by it; I am the Lord. 9They must keep my instruction, or they will be guilty and die because they profane it; I am the Lord who sets them apart.
10"No one outside a priest’s family is to eat the holy offering. A foreigner staying with a priest or a hired worker is not to eat the holy offering.
11But if a priest purchases someone with his own silver, that person may eat it, and those born in his house may eat his food.
12If the priest’s daughter is married to a man outside a priest’s family, she is not to eat from the holy contributions.
13But if the priest’s daughter becomes widowed or divorced, has no children, and returns to her father’s house as in her youth, she may share her father’s food. But no outsider may share it.
14If anyone eats a holy offering in error, he is to add a fifth to its value and give the holy offering to the priest.
15The priests must not profane the holy offerings the Israelites give to the Lord
16by letting the people eat their holy offerings and having them bear the penalty of restitution. For I am the Lord who sets them apart."
17The Lord spoke to Moses:
18"Speak to Aaron, his sons, and all the Israelites and tell them: Any man of the house of Israel or of the resident aliens in Israel who presents his offering —whether they present payment of vows or freewill gifts to the Lord as burnt offerings—
19must offer an unblemished male from the cattle, sheep, or goats in order for you to be accepted.
New Living Translation
4If any of Aaron’s descendants has a skin disease or any kind of discharge that makes him ceremonially unclean, he may not eat from the sacred offerings until he has been pronounced clean. He also becomes unclean by touching a corpse, or by having an emission of semen,
5or by touching a small animal that is unclean, or by touching someone who is ceremonially unclean for any reason.
6The man who is defiled in any of these ways will remain unclean until evening. He may not eat from the sacred offerings until he has bathed himself in water.
7When the sun goes down, he will be ceremonially clean again and may eat from the sacred offerings, for this is his food.
8He may not eat an animal that has died a natural death or has been torn apart by wild animals, for this would defile him. I am the Lord.
10No one outside a priest’s family may eat the sacred offerings. Even guests and hired workers in a priest’s home are not allowed to eat them.
11However, if the priest buys a slave for himself, the slave may eat from the sacred offerings. And if his slaves have children, they also may share his food.
12If a priest’s daughter marries someone outside the priestly family, she may no longer eat the sacred offerings.
13But if she becomes a widow or is divorced and has no children to support her, and she returns to live in her father’s home as in her youth, she may eat her father’s food again. Otherwise, no one outside a priest’s family may eat the sacred offerings.
14Any such person who eats the sacred offerings without realizing it must pay the priest for the amount eaten, plus an additional 20 percent.
15The priests must not let the Israelites defile the sacred offerings brought to the Lord
16by allowing unauthorized people to eat them. This would bring guilt upon them and require them to pay compensation. I am the Lord who makes them holy.'
18Give Aaron and his sons and all the Israelites these instructions, which apply both to native Israelites and to the foreigners living among you. 'If you present a gift as a burnt offering to the Lord, whether it is to fulfill a vow or is a voluntary offering,
19you will be accepted only if your offering is a male animal with no defects. It may be a bull, a ram, or a male goat.

4" ‘If a descendant of Aaron has a defiling skin disease or a bodily discharge, he may not eat the sacred offerings until he is cleansed. He will also be unclean if he touches something defiled by a corpse or by anyone who has an emission of semen,
5or if he touches any crawling thing that makes him unclean, or any person who makes him unclean, whatever the uncleanness may be.
6The one who touches any such thing will be unclean till evening. He must not eat any of the sacred offerings unless he has bathed himself with water.

14" ‘Anyone who eats a sacred offering by mistake must make restitution to the priest for the offering and add a fifth of the value to it.
15The priests must not desecrate the sacred offerings the Israelites present to the Lord
16by allowing them to eat the sacred offerings and so bring upon them guilt requiring payment. I am the Lord, who makes them holy.’ "
17The Lord said to Moses,
18"Speak to Aaron and his sons and to all the Israelites and say to them: ‘If any of you—whether an Israelite or a foreigner residing in Israel—presents a gift for a burnt offering to the Lord, either to fulfill a vow or as a freewill offering,
19you must present a male without defect from the cattle, sheep or goats in order that it may be accepted on your behalf.
