Leviticus 23:20-31
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 23
20The priest shall then wave them with the bread of the first fruits as a wave offering with two lambs before the Lord; they are to be holy to the Lord for the priest. 21On this very day you shall make a proclamation as well; you are to have a holy convocation. You shall do no laborious work. It is to be a permanent statute in all your dwelling places throughout your generations.
23Again the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
24Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘In the seventh month on the first of the month you shall have a rest, a reminder by blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation.
25You shall not do any laborious work, but you shall present an offering by fire to the Lord.’?'
26Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
27On exactly the tenth day of this seventh month is the Day of Atonement; it shall be a holy convocation for you, and you shall humble yourselves and present an offering by fire to the Lord.
28You shall not do any work on this very day, for it is a Day of Atonement, to make atonement on your behalf before the Lord your God.
29If there is any person who does not humble himself on this very day, he shall be cut off from his people.
30As for any person who does any work on this very day, that person I will eliminate from among his people.
31You shall not do any work. It is to be a permanent statute throughout your generations in all your dwelling places.
King James Version
21And ye shall proclaim on the selfsame day, that it may be an holy convocation unto you: ye shall do no servile work therein: it shall be a statute for ever in all your dwellings throughout your generations.
22And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not make clean riddance of the corners of thy field when thou reapest, neither shalt thou gather any gleaning of thy harvest: thou shalt leave them unto the poor, and to the stranger: I am the Lord your God.
23And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
24Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation.
25Ye shall do no servile work therein: but ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord.
26And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
27Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord.
28And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before the Lord your God.
29For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people.
30And whatsoever soul it be that doeth any work in that same day, the same soul will I destroy from among his people.
31Ye shall do no manner of work: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.

Chapter 23
20The priest will present the lambs with the bread of firstfruits as a presentation offering before the Lord; the bread and the two lambs will be holy to the Lord for the priest. 21On that same day you are to make a proclamation and hold a sacred assembly. You are not to do any daily work. This is to be a permanent statute wherever you live throughout your generations. 22When you reap the harvest of your land, you are not to reap all the way to the edge of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. Leave them for the poor and the resident alien; I am the Lord your God."
23The Lord spoke to Moses:
24"Tell the Israelites: In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you are to have a day of complete rest, commemoration, and trumpet blasts —a sacred assembly.
25You must not do any daily work, but you must present a fire offering to the Lord."
26The Lord again spoke to Moses:
27"The tenth day of this seventh month is the Day of Atonement. You are to hold a sacred assembly and practice self-denial; you are to present a fire offering to the Lord.
28On this particular day you are not to do any work, for it is a Day of Atonement to make atonement for yourselves before the Lord your God.
29If any person does not practice self-denial on this particular day, he is to be cut off from his people.
30I will destroy among his people anyone who does any work on this same day.
31You are not to do any work. This is a permanent statute throughout your generations wherever you live.

Chapter 23
20The priest will lift up the two lambs as a special offering to the Lord, together with the loaves representing the first of your crops. These offerings, which are holy to the Lord, belong to the priests. 21That same day will be proclaimed an official day for holy assembly, a day on which you do no ordinary work. This is a permanent law for you, and it must be observed from generation to generation wherever you live.
23The Lord said to Moses,
24Give the following instructions to the people of Israel. On the first day of the appointed month in early autumn, you are to observe a day of complete rest. It will be an official day for holy assembly, a day commemorated with loud blasts of a trumpet.
25You must do no ordinary work on that day. Instead, you are to present special gifts to the Lord.'
26Then the Lord said to Moses,
27Be careful to celebrate the Day of Atonement on the tenth day of that same month — nine days after the Festival of Trumpets. You must observe it as an official day for holy assembly, a day to deny yourselves and present special gifts to the Lord.
28Do no work during that entire day because it is the Day of Atonement, when offerings of purification are made for you, making you right with the Lord your God.
29All who do not deny themselves that day will be cut off from God’s people.
30And I will destroy anyone among you who does any work on that day.
31You must not do any work at all! This is a permanent law for you, and it must be observed from generation to generation wherever you live.
