Leviticus 26:23-39
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 26
23‘And if by these things you do not learn your lesson regarding Me, but you show hostility toward Me, 24then I in turn will show hostility toward you; and I, even I, will strike you seven times for your sins. 25I will also bring upon you a sword which will execute vengeance for the covenant; and when you gather together into your cities, I will send a plague among you, so that you will be handed over to the enemy. 26When I break your staff of bread, ten women will bake your bread in one oven, and they will bring back your bread in rationed amounts, so that you will eat and not be satisfied.
27‘Yet if in spite of this you do not obey Me, but act with hostility against Me,
28then I will act with wrathful hostility against you, and I for My part will punish you seven times for your sins.
29Further, you will eat the flesh of your sons, and you will eat the flesh of your daughters.
30I then will destroy your high places, and cut down your incense altars, and pile your remains on the remains of your idols, for My soul will loathe you.
31I will turn your cities into ruins as well and make your sanctuaries desolate, and I will not smell your soothing aromas.
32And I will make the land desolate so that your enemies who settle in it will be appalled at it.
33You, however, I will scatter among the nations, and I will draw out a sword after you, as your land becomes desolate and your cities become ruins.
34‘Then the land will restore its Sabbaths all the days of the desolation, while you are in your enemies’ land; then the land will rest and restore its Sabbaths.
35All the days of its desolation it will have the rest which it did not have on your Sabbaths, while you were living on it.
36As for those among you who are left, I will also bring despair into their hearts in the lands of their enemies. And the sound of a scattered leaf will chase them, and even when no one is pursuing they will flee as though from the sword, and they will fall.
37They will then stumble over each other as if running from the sword, although no one is pursuing; and you will have no strength to stand before your enemies.
38Instead, you will perish among the nations, and your enemies’ land will consume you.
39So those of you who may be left will rot away because of their wrongdoing in the lands of your enemies; and also because of the wrongdoing of their forefathers they will rot away with them.
King James Version
Chapter 26
23And if ye will not be reformed by me by these things, but will walk contrary unto me; 24Then will I also walk contrary unto you, and will punish you yet seven times for your sins. 25And I will bring a sword upon you, that shall avenge the quarrel of my covenant: and when ye are gathered together within your cities, I will send the pestilence among you; and ye shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy. 26And when I have broken the staff of your bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver you your bread again by weight: and ye shall eat, and not be satisfied.
27And if ye will not for all this hearken unto me, but walk contrary unto me;
28Then I will walk contrary unto you also in fury; and I, even I, will chastise you seven times for your sins.
29And ye shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall ye eat.
30And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your images, and cast your carcases upon the carcases of your idols, and my soul shall abhor you.
31And I will make your cities waste, and bring your sanctuaries unto desolation, and I will not smell the savour of your sweet odours.
32And I will bring the land into desolation: and your enemies which dwell therein shall be astonished at it.
33And I will scatter you among the heathen, and will draw out a sword after you: and your land shall be desolate, and your cities waste.
34Then shall the land enjoy her sabbaths, as long as it lieth desolate, and ye be in your enemies' land; even then shall the land rest, and enjoy her sabbaths.
35As long as it lieth desolate it shall rest; because it did not rest in your sabbaths, when ye dwelt upon it.
36And upon them that are left alive of you I will send a faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies; and the sound of a shaken leaf shall chase them; and they shall flee, as fleeing from a sword; and they shall fall when none pursueth.
37And they shall fall one upon another, as it were before a sword, when none pursueth: and ye shall have no power to stand before your enemies.
38And ye shall perish among the heathen, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up.
39And they that are left of you shall pine away in their iniquity in your enemies' lands; and also in the iniquities of their fathers shall they pine away with them.

Chapter 26
23"If in spite of these things you do not accept my discipline, but act with hostility toward me, 24then I will act with hostility toward you; I also will strike you seven times for your sins. 25I will bring a sword against you to execute the vengeance of the covenant. Though you withdraw into your cities, I will send a pestilence among you, and you will be delivered into enemy hands. 26When I cut off your supply of bread, ten women will bake your bread in a single oven and ration out your bread by weight, so that you will eat but not be satisfied.
27"And if in spite of this you do not obey me but act with hostility toward me,
28I will act with furious hostility toward you; I will also discipline you seven times for your sins.
29You will eat the flesh of your sons; you will eat the flesh of your daughters.
30I will destroy your high places, cut down your shrines, and heap your lifeless bodies on the lifeless bodies of your idols; I will reject you.
31I will reduce your cities to ruins and devastate your sanctuaries. I will not smell the pleasing aroma of your sacrifices.
32I also will devastate the land, so that your enemies who come to live there will be appalled by it.
33But I will scatter you among the nations, and I will draw a sword to chase after you. So your land will become desolate, and your cities will become ruins.
34"Then the land will make up for its Sabbath years during the time it lies desolate, while you are in the land of your enemies. At that time the land will rest and make up for its Sabbaths.
35As long as it lies desolate, it will have the rest it did not have during your Sabbaths when you lived there.
36"I will put anxiety in the hearts of those of you who survive in the lands of their enemies. The sound of a wind-driven leaf will put them to flight, and they will flee as one flees from a sword, and fall though no one is pursuing them.
37They will stumble over one another as if fleeing from a sword though no one is pursuing them. You will not be able to stand against your enemies.
38You will perish among the nations; the land of your enemies will devour you.
39Those who survive in the lands of your enemies will waste away because of their iniquity; they will also waste away because of their fathers’ iniquities along with theirs.
New Living Translation
Chapter 26
23And if you fail to learn the lesson and continue your hostility toward me, 24then I myself will be hostile toward you. I will personally strike you with calamity seven times over for your sins. 25I will send armies against you to carry out the curse of the covenant you have broken. When you run to your towns for safety, I will send a plague to destroy you there, and you will be handed over to your enemies. 26I will destroy your food supply, so that ten women will need only one oven to bake bread for their families. They will ration your food by weight, and though you have food to eat, you will not be satisfied.
27If in spite of all this you still refuse to listen and still remain hostile toward me,
28then I will give full vent to my hostility. I myself will punish you seven times over for your sins.
29Then you will eat the flesh of your own sons and daughters.
30I will destroy your pagan shrines and knock down your places of worship. I will leave your lifeless corpses piled on top of your lifeless idols, and I will despise you.
31I will make your cities desolate and destroy your places of pagan worship. I will take no pleasure in your offerings that should be a pleasing aroma to me.
32Yes, I myself will devastate your land, and your enemies who come to occupy it will be appalled at what they see.
33I will scatter you among the nations and bring out my sword against you. Your land will become desolate, and your cities will lie in ruins.
34Then at last the land will enjoy its neglected Sabbath years as it lies desolate while you are in exile in the land of your enemies. Then the land will finally rest and enjoy the Sabbaths it missed.
35As long as the land lies in ruins, it will enjoy the rest you never allowed it to take every seventh year while you lived in it.
36And for those of you who survive, I will demoralize you in the land of your enemies. You will live in such fear that the sound of a leaf driven by the wind will send you fleeing. You will run as though fleeing from a sword, and you will fall even when no one pursues you.
37Though no one is chasing you, you will stumble over each other as though fleeing from a sword. You will have no power to stand up against your enemies.
38You will die among the foreign nations and be devoured in the land of your enemies.
39Those of you who survive will waste away in your enemies’ lands because of their sins and the sins of their ancestors.

Chapter 26
23"And if by this discipline you are not turned to me but walk contrary to me, 24then I also will walk contrary to you, and I myself will strike you sevenfold for your sins. 25And I will bring a sword upon you, that shall execute vengeance for the covenant. And if you gather within your cities, I will send pestilence among you, and you shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy. 26When I break your supply of bread, ten women shall bake your bread in a single oven and shall dole out your bread again by weight, and you shall eat and not be satisfied.
27"But if in spite of this you will not listen to me, but walk contrary to me,
28then I will walk contrary to you in fury, and I myself will discipline you sevenfold for your sins.
29You shall eat the flesh of your sons, and you shall eat the flesh of your daughters.
30And I will destroy your high places and cut down your incense altars and cast your dead bodies upon the dead bodies of your idols, and my soul will abhor you.
31And I will lay your cities waste and will make your sanctuaries desolate, and I will not smell your pleasing aromas.
32And I myself will devastate the land, so that your enemies who settle in it shall be appalled at it.
33And I will scatter you among the nations, and I will unsheathe the sword after you, and your land shall be a desolation, and your cities shall be a waste.
34"Then the land shall enjoy its Sabbaths as long as it lies desolate, while you are in your enemies ' land; then the land shall rest, and enjoy its Sabbaths.
35As long as it lies desolate it shall have rest, the rest that it did not have on your Sabbaths when you were dwelling in it.
36And as for those of you who are left, I will send faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies. The sound of a driven leaf shall put them to flight, and they shall flee as one flees from the sword, and they shall fall when none pursues.
37They shall stumble over one another, as if to escape a sword, though none pursues. And you shall have no power to stand before your enemies.
38And you shall perish among the nations, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up.
39And those of you who are left shall rot away in your enemies ' lands because of their iniquity, and also because of the iniquities of their fathers they shall rot away like them.

Chapter 26
23" ‘If in spite of these things you do not accept my correction but continue to be hostile toward me, 24I myself will be hostile toward you and will afflict you for your sins seven times over. 25And I will bring the sword on you to avenge the breaking of the covenant. When you withdraw into your cities, I will send a plague among you, and you will be given into enemy hands. 26When I cut off your supply of bread, ten women will be able to bake your bread in one oven, and they will dole out the bread by weight. You will eat, but you will not be satisfied.
27" ‘If in spite of this you still do not listen to me but continue to be hostile toward me,
28then in my anger I will be hostile toward you, and I myself will punish you for your sins seven times over.
29You will eat the flesh of your sons and the flesh of your daughters.
30I will destroy your high places, cut down your incense altars and pile your dead bodies on the lifeless forms of your idols, and I will abhor you.
31I will turn your cities into ruins and lay waste your sanctuaries, and I will take no delight in the pleasing aroma of your offerings.
32I myself will lay waste the land, so that your enemies who live there will be appalled.
33I will scatter you among the nations and will draw out my sword and pursue you. Your land will be laid waste, and your cities will lie in ruins.
34Then the land will enjoy its sabbath years all the time that it lies desolate and you are in the country of your enemies; then the land will rest and enjoy its sabbaths.
35All the time that it lies desolate, the land will have the rest it did not have during the sabbaths you lived in it.
36" ‘As for those of you who are left, I will make their hearts so fearful in the lands of their enemies that the sound of a windblown leaf will put them to flight. They will run as though fleeing from the sword, and they will fall, even though no one is pursuing them.
37They will stumble over one another as though fleeing from the sword, even though no one is pursuing them. So you will not be able to stand before your enemies.
38You will perish among the nations; the land of your enemies will devour you.
39Those of you who are left will waste away in the lands of their enemies because of their sins; also because of their ancestors’ sins they will waste away.
