Leviticus 4:12-18
New American Standard Bible
13‘Now if the entire congregation of Israel does wrong unintentionally and the matter escapes the notice of the assembly, and they commit any of the things which the Lord has commanded not to be done, and they become guilty;
14when the sin which they have committed becomes known, then the assembly shall offer a bull of the herd as a sin offering and bring it in front of the tent of meeting.
15Then the elders of the congregation shall lay their hands on the head of the bull before the Lord, and the bull shall be slaughtered before the Lord.
16Then the anointed priest is to bring some of the blood of the bull to the tent of meeting;
17and the priest shall dip his finger in the blood and sprinkle it seven times before the Lord, in front of the veil.
18He shall then put some of the blood on the horns of the altar which is before the Lord in the tent of meeting; and all the rest of the blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar of burnt offering which is at the doorway of the tent of meeting.
King James Version
Chapter 4
12Even the whole bullock shall he carry forth without the camp unto a clean place, where the ashes are poured out, and burn him on the wood with fire: where the ashes are poured out shall he be burnt. 13And if the whole congregation of Israel sin through ignorance, and the thing be hid from the eyes of the assembly, and they have done somewhat against any of the commandments of the Lord concerning things which should not be done, and are guilty; 14When the sin, which they have sinned against it, is known, then the congregation shall offer a young bullock for the sin, and bring him before the tabernacle of the congregation. 15And the elders of the congregation shall lay their hands upon the head of the bullock before the Lord: and the bullock shall be killed before the Lord. 16And the priest that is anointed shall bring of the bullock's blood to the tabernacle of the congregation: 17And the priest shall dip his finger in some of the blood, and sprinkle it seven times before the Lord, even before the vail. 18And he shall put some of the blood upon the horns of the altar which is before the Lord, that is in the tabernacle of the congregation, and shall pour out all the blood at the bottom of the altar of the burnt offering, which is at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.Christian Standard Bible
13"Now if the whole community of Israel errs, and the matter escapes the notice of the assembly, so that they violate any of the Lord’s commands and incur guilt by doing what is prohibited,
14then the assembly must present a young bull as a sin offering. They are to bring it before the tent of meeting when the sin they have committed in regard to the command becomes known.
15The elders of the community are to lay their hands on the bull’s head before the Lord and it is to be slaughtered before the Lord.
16The anointed priest will bring some of the bull’s blood into the tent of meeting.
17The priest is to dip his finger in the blood and sprinkle it seven times before the Lord in front of the curtain.
18He is to apply some of the blood to the horns of the altar that is before the Lord in the tent of meeting. He will pour out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar of burnt offering that is at the entrance to the tent of meeting.
New Living Translation
13If the entire Israelite community sins by violating one of the Lord’s commands, but the people don’t realize it, they are still guilty.
14When they become aware of their sin, the people must bring a young bull as an offering for their sin and present it before the Tabernacle.
15The elders of the community must then lay their hands on the bull’s head and slaughter it before the Lord.
16The high priest will then take some of the bull’s blood into the Tabernacle,
17dip his finger in the blood, and sprinkle it seven times before the Lord in front of the inner curtain.
18He will then put some of the blood on the horns of the altar for fragrant incense that stands in the Lord’s presence inside the Tabernacle. He will pour out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar for burnt offerings at the entrance of the Tabernacle.
